Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora watched on at Coldplay concert that sparked kiss cam CEO drama – ‘it was fun’

BOSTON Red Sox manager Alex Cora let the world know he was at the Coldplay concert where the viral kiss cam CEO drama took place.

Cora attended the concert when former Astronomer Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot were busted for an alleged affair on the jumbotron at Gillette Stadium last Wednesday.

While on the New England Patriots’ video screen, Byron and Cabot were caught hugging each other before hiding themselves.

On Friday, the Red Sox skipper Cora caught up with reporters ahead of his team’s series opener against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, and he was asked how he enjoyed his All-Star break.

And a smiling Cora said he was at the concert.

“I was actually [at] the Wednesday [Coldplay] concert,” Cora said.

“It was fun.”

Cora shared that he picked out the date to attend the concert back in December.

The 49-year-old said that Coldplay’s concert was near Boston, so he made plans to go.

Cora would be in for a treat as he and his friends would witness firsthand one of the most viral moments of 2025.

The scene caused Coldplay’s Chris Martin to say to the crowd, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

Byron had been placed on leave and Astronomer conducted an investigation into the situation.

It was announced on Sunday that the Tech CEO had resigned, per his now-former employer.

Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,” Astronomer’s statement on X and LinkedIn read.

“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

After a few days off, the Red Sox lost two out of three games to the first-place Cubs.

They had won 10 straight games entering the All-Star break.

Boston is currently five games back of the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the AL East.

Cora and the Red Sox won’t have it easy for the next seven days.

They’ll take on the first-place Philadelphia Phillies for three games in a series starting Monday.

Boston will then head back home to face the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.
