BRIAN Daboll has named the New York Giants’ starting quarterback for their Week 2 clash against the Dallas Cowboys.

And with an exciting prospect on the bench, in Jaxson Dart, pressure is mounting on the veteran.
However, Daboll announced that Russell will remain the starter for the Giants despite his poor Week 1.
Wilson went 17-for-37 in completions in the season opener.
He passed for 168 yards with no touchdowns against the Commanders, failing to impress.
His position as the starting QB is particularly under scrutiny due to the impressive rookie, currently backing up Wilson.
Dart was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Giants.
He joined from Ole Miss, having led the Rebels to back-to-back 10-win seasons.
Ahead of the season, it was announced that the 22-year-old beat out Jameis Winston to become the No. 2 QB in New York.
In preseason, he threw for almost 400 yards in the three games as they beat the Bills, Jets and Patriots.
After their opening NFL game, Daboll was asked about the possibility of starting Dart against the Cowboys, but he played it coy.
The coach said, “We’re going to get home and look at our game.”
“This game isn’t on Russell Wilson. It’s not on Russell Wilson. Let me make that clear.
“I have confidence in Russ. We have to do a better job all the way around.”
Wilson was also asked about Dart after the game, and whether he felt pressure from the rookie.
The QB stated, “No, I just focus on what we can control.
