Caitlin Clark forced to apologize to Indiana Fever fan after incident against Mystics is caught on camera

CAITLIN CLARK’s rare moment of mis-control had Indiana Fever fans ducking for cover on Tuesday night.

The WNBA star was forced to apologize to a group of fans after accidentally firing a bouncy ball into their vicinity.

Clark was dribbling with the ball ahead of the Fever’s game with the Washington Mystics.

The 23-year-old is one basketball’s most talented young stars.

But viral video of Clark’s misjudgment showed even the very best can be fooled by a bounce.

Clark is currently out of action with a quad injury and didn’t play in the game.

She entertained herself on the sideline ahead of the matchup by showboating with a large bouncy ball.

Clark gave the ball a firm shove into the floor at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The ball prompty took off, firing back over Clark’s head and into the watching crowd.

A laughing Clark scampered into the seats to retrieve it, apologizing profusely to spectators who’d had to dive out the way.

“I just knew that was going to happen,” a voice off camera gasped.

The Fever won their first game without Clark in the lineup this season over the Mystics.

Kelsey Mitchell stepped up in Clark’s absence, scoring 24 points in a 85-76 win.

Emergency signing Aari McDonald also impressed off the bench as the Fever improved to 3-4.

McDonald, 26, signed for the Fever this Monday having been released by the Los Angeles Sparks.

The new arrival had seven points, five assists and three steals.

Clark was ruled out for a minimum of two weeks on May 26 after suffering the strain.

She will miss a rematch with Chicago Sky rival Angel Reese this weekend.

Last season’s Rookie of the Year contenders clashed earlier in the schedule.

A furious Reese was knocked to the ground by Clark in a bad-tempered match-up.
