Caitlin Clark gives startling update as Indiana Fever superstar speaks on injury-riddled WNBA season

CAITLIN Clark has been sidelined with yet another injury, and those struggles are weighing on her.

Before this season, Clark hadn’t missed a game due to injury since high school.

Clark has missed numerous games this season due to her injury struggles, and that spread to the All-Star game.

After being voted as an All-Sar starter and being named as a three-point contest participant, she was forced to miss all of the festivities.

Clark told Glamour during the All-Star break how her injury struggles have changed her mindset.

“This is the first time I haven’t felt like a young body that can run around and sprint every day and just continue to do that,” Clark said.

“Being a professional athlete, you really have to take care of both your body and your mind — it’s been a journey learning about that.”

Clark utilizes the Indiana Fever‘s sports psychologist to ensure she keeps her mind right while struggling with injury.

She said she visits the psychologist “multiple times a week, to not only talk about basketball but other things in life, and that’s something that’s been important to me over the course of my career.”

Clark is trying every available treatment to get her body right so she can help the Fever win more games.

Red-light therapy, dry needling, and hyperbaric oxygen chambers are all options she has tried, according to Glamour.

The Fever are 12-12 this season, with Clark only playing 13 of those games.

Indiana is 8-5 when Clark is on the court, and just fell to 4-7 when she is off the court.

The team fell to the New York Liberty 98-84 on Tuesday after being outscored 56-38 in the second half.

The longer Clark is out, the harder it is going to be for the Fever to hold on to a playoff spot.

Indiana is only one game ahead of the ninth-place Golden State Valkyries.

If they drop below the Washington Mystics and the Valkyries, they will be on their heels trying to claw back into contention.

Clark coming back from her injury struggles will be pivotal in the Fever’s push for the playoffs.

The biggest question is when Clark will come back from her most recent groin injury.

Indiana certainly want this injury stint to be Clark’s last of the season, and they could hold her out longer than needed to ensure she is fully healthy.

So far, no timeline has been given for a return to play for Clark.
