But the WNBA star was clearly not too disheartened as she took to social media to jokingly mock Cunningham – who has become her on-court enforcer this season.
The Fever posted pictures from their workout and one showed Cunningham’s hair bouncing up and down as she ran around the court.
The shot captured her hair in a bizarre position – and Clark replied “love this hairstyle” while tagging her Cunningham.
Clark is due to sit out for a fifth straight game on Saturday and miss her tenth match of the season.
Coach Stephanie White said at the time of Clark’s injury that it was “very much a day-to-day thing.”
The Feaver were beaten 89-87 by the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday at at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Defeat drops them to 9-9 and seventh in the team standings as the All-Star break approaches.
They had won three of their last five despite missing guard Clark.
Coach White stressed the importance of putting more focus on their defense.
Before losing to the Sparks, they held both the Las Vegas Aces and the Minnesota Lynx to below 60 points.
“(Consistency is) gradually going to happen over time,” said backup guard Sydney Colson in a report from Indianapolis Star’s Joshua Heron.
“And we’ve seen it over the course of the season, there’s been peaks and valleys.
“You try to lessen how many valleys there are and get to a point where we’re having more peaks.”
