“Cannot wait to see you again one day mormor.”
Per the Minnesota Star Tribune, first responders were called at around 6pm on Wednesday after Smaby-Nowlin had been found unresponsive.
It’s said that McCaffery’s grandmother had been on vacation at Lake Vermilion alongside other family members.
She was subsequently taken to Cook Hospital, where she sadly passed away.
Smaby-Nowlin had lived in Saint-Paul alongside her husband Forrest Nowlin.
McCaffery has been in a relationship with Clark since 2023.
The Indiana Fever superstar has been struggling with injury this season.
Clark has been ruled out of her team’s last 12 games due to a groin issue.
The 18-16 Fever are set to take on the Connecticut Sun this evening.
Clark, 23, will again miss out.
