LOS ANGELES RAMS linebacker Jared Verse opened up about the gruelling workout routine he was put through by ex-NFL star Aaron Donald.
Verse visited Donald, 34, for an at-home workout after an internet back and forth between the two became a workout challenge called from Donald.

Verse told tales of the workout, which left him unable to workout or move for a day-and-a-half[/caption]
But Verse got more than he bargained for when he turned up at the future Hall of Famer’s door, telling the media earlier this week that the workout was ‘psychotic’ in comparison to his regular workouts.
“No doubt about it, that workout was psychotic. I’m never doing that again.” he laughed.
“He did change my workout routine though. Now my workouts don’t hit anymore. So, I had to go a little harder.”
“I’ll tell you exactly what we did. I show up, it’s like 11 in the morning. I’m thinking we’ve got like an hour [long] workout.
“I got plans after. I have things I have to do throughout the day. I was planning on watching film and everything like that.
“We show up, he doesn’t say ‘hi’ or anything like that. He sees me and he’s like, ‘Come on.’ He does a little dap up.
“We do four workouts. It’s all cardio. Versa climber, bike, lunges and core. Four rounds each. You’re already tired.
“Then you do four sets of core, two different workouts. So it’s eight different workouts, four sets each. You go through these and he says ‘All right, you ready for the real workout?’
“I’m like, ‘I’ve been here for 45 minutes. What are you talking about?’”
Things would only get worse for the 24-year-old as the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year pushed on with his full routine.
Verse, drafted by the Rams as the 19th overall pick of the 2024 draft, tried everything he could to escape Donald’s plans.
“We go to the weight room. It’s all arms, that’s why he’s big as hell.
“I’m there for an hour and a half. His wife came in laughing at me. I told her to call the police. I’m dead serious. I’m not even joking. She wouldn’t do it.
“I tried to lie and say my mom was at my house and I had to go let her in. He told me to give my keys to his management or assistant and that they would go let my mom in. So I wasn’t leaving.
“Finished the workout. I’m dead tired, I’m exhausted. I had a plan to go jump in the sauna afterwards, didn’t happen. I had plans to watch film, didn’t happen.
“I went home and I didn’t work out for another day and a half because I couldn’t move my body.”

Aaron Donald is considered to be one of the best defensive players ever to grace the game[/caption]
Donald also played for the Rams until his retirement in 2023[/caption]
Despite the grueling effort and its harsh effects on the Ohio native, he managed to take the workout as inspiration, and a reminder of how hard it is to become a great of the game.
“The one thing he kept saying throughout the whole workout . . . was, ‘Think of the fourth quarter,’
“‘Everyone’s good, the first, second and third, but what about the fourth? That’s where you make your money.’ He’s saying it loud and proud. . . . I was like, ‘Damn, OK.’”
“Forget like the media, everything like that. I would’ve done that just me and him.

“It was insane to see that’s the level it takes to be in the discussions of best defensive player ever or best player ever.
“So that’s the level I have to reach on a consecutive basis. That’s what I’m striving for now.”
Verse and the Rams begin their season on the 9th of August as they host the Dallas Cowboys at the SoFi stadium.
