DILLON Gabriel made his first NFL start on Sunday for the Cleveland Browns.

But the rookie quarterback’s dad wasn’t allowed to watch him play.

Gabriel started for the Browns against the Minnesota Vikings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The third round NFL Draft pick officially took over the job from Joe Flacco, 40, before the team boarded a flight to London.

Gabriel, 24, spoke to media on Friday from the team’s hotel.

And he revealed that his dad cannot travel internationally.

“Fun fact: Need to get my dad a passport,” Gabriel joked. “So we’re learning about that.

“Second, just a little later in the week, so mom and dad, it’s from Hawai’i, you can imagine that flight’s even further than what we just did.”

The game began at 2.30 pm local time on Sunday – which was 9.30 am ET.

That meant Gabriel’s family watching from Hawai’i had to wake up in the middle of the night to watch his first start.

Gabriel has stepped in for Flacco during the first four weeks with the Browns offense struggling.

But the game in London on Sunday made him the 41st starting quarterback for the Browns since 1999.

Gabriel threw two touchdown passes against the Vikings.

But he saw victory snatched from him by a fourth-quarter touchdown from Jordan Addison.

Gabriel said, “I think I learned little details – definitely was ready for that.

“But all the details come down to it and I think in any game you’re going to want four to five plays back.

“But four to five plays could be the difference, and the difference is truly what we’ll be attacking.”

Sick moment pathetic British ‘traitor’ fighting for Putin in Ukraine shamelessly sets FIRE to his UK passport

FOOTAGE shows a British traitor who fled the UK to fight alongside the Russian forces in Ukraine burning his British passport.

Aiden Minnis, 37, who “hates” the UK and was disowned by his family, boasted about his new Russian passport in a sickening video.

Footage showed Aiden burning his British passport on the ground against the backdrop of a Russian tricolour flag.

Wearing military fatigues and brandishing a gun, he hurled abusive slurs while filming himself as part of a Russian propaganda clip.

He was heard saying: “The UK says it can withdraw and revoke citizenship to anyone who participates in anything they deem as a threat to their country.

“So consider my passport revoked, consider it rescinded, and consider it that I do not want it anymore. You can kiss my a**.

“F*** you, Great Britain and Slava Rossii [Glory to Russia].”

Aiden, from Wiltshire, brandished his Russian “passport” around and bragged in the pathetic video shared online.

He gloated: “I have a Russian passport. I am now Russian.

“I am relieved because now I know I am safe, safe from prosecution in the UK, safe from false and bogus charges just because I want to come and fight for Russia and fight for a just cause and the people of Donbas.”

But Aiden’s claim that the passport would protect him from being thrown behind bars in the UK is far from the truth.

It is in fact an internal ID document, not valid for foreign travel – and would not save him from prosecution or jail in Britain.

It also wouldn’t prevent the pathetic traitor from being extradited to the UK if he travels to the West.

In a previous video, he doubled down on his hatred for the UK, saying: “I reiterate that I condemn my country of origin.

“I hate it for what they have done to the people of Donbas, to Russia, and what they continue to do.”

Aiden’s family back in Britain disowned him after the treacherous Brit joined Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine.

They claim they want “Nothing to do with him”.

The former National Front thug claims he helps “lay landmines and explosives” that kill Ukrainian soldiers.

He believes he is “doing the Lord’s work” by joining Moscow’s forces and said he is “willing to die” on the frontline.

Minnis continued in the video: “I am starting a new life in Russia. I am now Russian. I am happy to be Russian.”

He made clear he expects Putin’s army to send him into harm’s way on the frontline.

“After my vacation I go to a storm battalion. So things are only going to get tougher for me.

“I know it’s dangerous. War is dangerous.”

The UK government has said on Minnis’ warped decision: “Reports of British nationals taking part in illegal invasion are shocking and their alleged actions are reprehensible.

“Those who travel from the UK to conflict zones to engage in unlawful activity should expect to be investigated upon their return.”

Aiden – previously convicted for a racist attack – insists he has no plans to return to the UK after serving in Putin’s army.

He is one of two Brits unmasked as traitors caught fighting against Ukraine.

His “best British friend in the Russian army” is Ben Stimson, who was previously convicted for terrorism after helping pro-Russian separatists.

The 48-year-old from Oldham shared videos online from the frontline brazenly flaunting Russian military gear and gloating: “Yes, yes, I’m back in Russia. I’m back in uniform.”

His dad Martin Stimson, 76, a Morris dancer and former councillor, said the shame of watching his son fight for Putin was too much.

Speaking from his quiet cottage home, tucked away in the village of Mossley, Martin described his son’s actions as “crazy”.

Martin told The Sun: “He was released from prison and then he told me he was going to Russia to be a teaching assistant.

HOUSEHOLDS looking to cut back on soaring winter energy bills can snag a cozy solution that’s now nearly half off.

The Homemate Heated Blanket Electric Throw is currently available on Amazon for just $29.99, slashed 40% from its original $49.99 price.

The deal is exclusive to Amazon Prime members and includes free shipping and returns.

Available in Light Grey, the 50-inch by 60-inch blanket features 200gsm flannel and 200gsm sherpa, making it ultra-soft and warm even before it’s switched on.

Shoppers can also choose from multiple colors like Navy Blue, Ruby Red, Beige, Purple, and Black, with prices slightly varying depending on the shade.

The blanket is designed with 10 heat settings and an auto shut-off function that lets users set a timer for 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours.

Its temperature range spans from 86°F to 122°F, giving users plenty of control for personalized comfort.

The brand says its intelligent temperature adjustment technology ensures the throw stays consistently warm without wasting energy.

According to Homemate, the heating wire is made by a Japanese manufacturer known for strong insulation and flame resistance.

The blanket also boasts ETL certification and has passed the American UL964 safety test, offering lower electromagnetic radiation for added peace of mind.

Its 2.2mm heating wire is thin enough that users “hardly feel it,” according to the product description, helping maintain a plush feel.

A 9.5-foot power cord makes it flexible to use across different areas of the home – from the couch to the bed or even the office.

The company claims the larger heating area allows for more even warmth compared to other electric throws.

Amazon lists the blanket in several sizes, including 62×84, 72×84, and 100×90 inches, though the $29.99 deal applies to the standard throw size.

While it’s ideal for snuggling indoors, experts say there are other simple ways to keep homes warm and bills low this winter.

Experts warn that keeping the heat running all day is a costly mistake; it’s better to turn it on only when needed, according to EDF Energy.

Energy Bills: By the Numbers

  • 64% of Americans whose household pays a monthly electric and gas utility bill say those bills have increased compared to a year ago.
  • 63% of billpayers indicate that their electric and gas utility bills are adding to their financial stress.
  • 48% of all Americans say that rising electric and gas utility bills for consumers like them is a bad sign for the economy.
  • 60% of Americans say they are not familiar with the state or local regulatory body that determines their utility bills. In a separate open-ended question, around 9 in 10 respondents could not correctly name their specific regulatory body.

They recommend using a timer or programmable thermostat to ensure warmth when you’re home without wasting energy while you’re out.

Turning the thermostat higher won’t speed up heating, specialists add, it simply keeps the boiler running longer and racks up bills.

Simple draught-proofing tricks can also help lock in warmth, like rolling up a towel to block gaps under doors or covering letterboxes.

Homeowners should also close vents and doors in unused rooms to avoid wasting heat and keep their homes warmer for less.
