Wells Fargo confirms all 4,300 locations will be closed for 24 hours in weeks
THOUSANDS of Wells Fargo banks will be closing for 24 hours in just a few weeks.
The banking chain with 4,300 banks will close every location four times for a full day in the next few months.

Wells Fargo posted on its website that customers can expect branches to be closed on certain days for the rest of the year.
Monday, October 13, marks the first of four days the bank will be closed, as it shuts its branches for Columbus Day.
Less than one month later, the bank will close all 4,300 branches for Veterans’ Day on Tuesday, November 11.
After those two national holidays, the bank will also close its branches for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Other banks, such as Bank of America, will also be closed on those days.
While the bank makes no mention of closing on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, customers are advised to check the hours of their local branch.
To check branch hours, customers can use the ATM & Branch Locator tool and then select “Services and Information.”
If no branch shows up, banking customers can call 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) for assistance.
Customers can still use a Wells Fargo ATM even if the branch location is closed.
At an ATM, banking customers can withdraw cash, transfer funds, check their balances, and make deposits.
Wells Fargo ATMs also accept digital wallet cards.
To use a digital wallet card, customers need to add their Wells Fargo Debit Card to a digital wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Contactless debit cards are also accepted at every Wells Fargo ATM.
When withdrawing money, ATMs dispense 20s and 50s, with select machines dispensing 1s, 5s, and 100s.
How to contact your bank
WITH bank scams running rampant, it is important to know how to reach out to your bank without risking fraud.
There is of course the foolproof method of going to your bank in person, but you are likely going to be directed to a customer care phone line.
In order to ensure that you are contacting the bank, make sure to use a phone number given to you by the representative or off of the bank’s website.
Some banks also have online helplines that can securely connect you with a representative.
Conversely, if you think the bank is reaching out to you with an account issue – make sure to verify the concern by calling a bank contact that you know is legitimate.
Scammers commonly mascarade as bank representatives to steal information from frightened customers.
At ATMs, customers are restricted to the amount they can deposit.
“The limit varies by ATM and will be shown on the screen when items are inserted,” Wells Fargo’s website state.
“There are limits on the total dollar amount of checks that can be deposited at Wells Fargo ATMs per transaction.
“We may decline deposits that exceed $1 million.”
At a Wells Fargo ATM, customers can make payments to their Wells Fargo credit cards.
Home Equity Line of Credit payments can also be made if it’s linked to a Wells Fargo debit card.
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Golf CANCELLED by 60mph winds as Storm Amy causes chaos and tournament cut to 54 holes
ROBERT MACINTYRE and his Dunhill Links rivals face an all-or-nothing shootout for the title tomorrow after the tournament was cut to 54 holes.
That follows a farcical attempt to play the third round in 60mph winds today – a wildly optimistic plan that was abandoned after less than twenty minutes.

That brought an angry backlash from frustrated spectators.
Many said the organisers should have recognised it was mission impossible, sparing them the expense and inconvenience of travelling to the three courses used for the Dunhill – St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.
Gambling on play definitely going ahead today, and reserving Monday for the fourth round, was not an option after that PR disaster.
So the tournament has been shortened to three rounds – just as it was two years ago, when play was washed out on Saturday and Sunday, and Matt Fitzpatrick claimed the title in a Monday finish.
Another Monday finish cannot be ruled out, if the bad weather that has battered the west coast of Scotland for the past 24 hours continues.
The entire field of 164 players – and the same number of pro-am competitors – were spread out on the three courses yesterday.
They faced a rare shotgun start at 12.30, after nearly 30 players had returned at 8am to complete the second round. That was halted early on Friday, because torrential rain left the courses waterlogged.
There were two groups starting from the same tee on some holes. Including the MacIntyre-Tyrrell Hatton pairing.
The Ryder Cup stars teed off on the seventh at St Andrews, ten minutes after the English duo of Jordan Smith and Eddie Pepperell.
Scotland’s MacIntyre, the joint leader with South African Richard Sterne through 36 holes on 12 under par, pulled his tee shot into the light rough, while Hatton split the fairway.

But the hooter sounded to end play before they even reached their balls. Play was eventually abandoned, and the third round will be re-started today, reverting to a two tee start, from the first and tenth holes.
The main excitement for the big crowd yesterday was provided by tennis star Andy Murray, who was playing alongside Pepperell.
The two handicapper was inches away from holing a forty footer for birdie on the seventh, tapping in for par just before play was scrapped.
That was not enough to satisfy the fans, who had come hoping to see MacIntyre move a step closer to a dream double, after his Scottish Open triumph last year. The organisers will hope he achieves that today, to deflect any further flak.
