CELLULAR carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile are offering some money-saving opportunities this summer.
It comes amid top competitor Verizon’s decision to remove a beloved perk, which caused some controversy among consumers.

Several longtime Verizon customers took to social media recently to detail the internal email they received over the past few weeks.
“We are writing to let you know that a discount on your account will soon end,” it read, according to a post from a Redditor this month.
“This discount will be removed no sooner than September 1, 2025.”
Based on the email and notes from other customers, Verizon is ending its loyalty discounts, which are designed to benefit those who have stuck with the carrier for several years.
The U.S. Sun has contacted Verizon for more information.
As a result, some are threatening to jump ship to other companies.
“They’re ending loyalty discounts, which was the only thing keeping me with Verizon,” a consumer fumed in the thread.
“Loyalty discount I had on my account, plus the $10 off per line for 12 months were literally the ONLY thing holding me back from porting,” another agreed.
SWITCHING OVER?
AT&T and T-Mobile are giving Verizon a run for its money with their discounts to steal the frustrated customers away.
For example, AT&T offers a discount program for active military members, veterans, teachers, nurses, physicians, and PA-Cs, along with their families, according to its website.
Specifically, those consumers who fit any one of those categories can get 25% off of AT&T Wireless Unlimited plans and a $200 bill credit for calling or ordering online.
Teachers can also get $100 in additional bill credits when they switch over.
Those who bring in their own phone can also get $360 back.
T-Mobile also boasts considerable savings opportunities for customers with its Magenta Status.

Those who sign up for an eligible plan can get 20% discounts and a third line free.
Experience plans also have a five-year price guarantee.
Some plans have as much as $200 worth of extra value considering perks like Netflix On Us, and those who get home internet and bundle can save another $15 per month.
Every Tuesday, T-Mobile also drops “freebies and fun perks” for members.
PAY UP
Even with all the money-saving promises from the cellular carriers, all three hiked prices this year.
For Verizon, the February increase was mostly on select myPlan accounts with five or more lines and those who have the (now old and unavailable) New Verizon Plan options.
Those customers with five or more lines saw a monthly uptick of about $3, and the now-discontinued New Verizon Plan got hit with a $4 monthly increase.
AT&T customers with FirstNet, a broadband network solely for first responders, also saw a $3 increase.
With T-Mobile, it was a $5 per line increase starting on April 2 for older plans, with the Go5G, Go5G Plus, and Go5G Next subscribers not affected.
All of the carriers said they remain committed to value for customers.
There’s also a new $499 phone “made in the USA” that was launched on June 16, along with a new “unlimited” phone service.
iPhone prices are also expected to soar by as much as $250 if Apple doesn’t abide by “made in the USA” demands.
