Former ESPN star Robert Griffin III slams Cleveland Browns over handling of Shedeur Sanders

ROBERT GRIFFIN III has criticised the Cleveland Browns over their handling of Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders, 23, was tipped to be one of the first picks in the Draft but was shockingly not selected until the fifth round.

Shedeur Sanders is currently fourth in their QB depth chart[/caption]

He is currently locked in a four-man tussle for the quarterback starting spot at the Browns.

Veteran Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel are his competition.

Reports have emerged that Sanders is ranked No.4 on the depth chart and could fall off the roster.

And that is despite ESPN claiming he has thrown six touchdowns and zero interceptions across nine practice sessions – though he sat out one through injury.

RGIII took to social media to slam the Browns over their use of Sanders.

He wrote: “Shedeur Sanders is being set up to fail in Cleveland.

“But God’s got him showing out even with limited reps.”

In comparison to Sanders’ stats – Flacco has three touchdowns and zero interceptions, while Gabriel has four and two.

Pickett landed three touchdowns and one interception, but he has missed team drills due to a hamstring issue.

The Browns face the Carolina Panthers in the first preseason contest of the campaign.

Flacco, Pickett and Gabriel are sitting out the match.

Therefore, Sanders is set to start the game in what will be a huge chance to prove himself to Kevin Stefanski.

Amid the injury problems in the quarterback room, the Browns signed Tyler Huntley as a fifth option.

But supposedly being listed as No.4 is not impacting Sanders.

He said: “How do I block out the noise? I’ve always faced adversity since growing up.

NFL legend hints at shock unretirement in potential blockbuster decision – but he has one major condition

AARON Donald has hinted that he could come out of retirement if the Los Angeles Rams trade for Micah Parsons.

Donald, 34, retired after the 2023 season following 10 years in the NFL.

The star defensive tackle enjoyed an incredibly distinguished career in the league.

Donald won Super Bowl LVI, in addition to being named Defensive Player of the Year three times and earning eight First-team All-Pro appearances.

The Rams icon is clearly watching Parsons’ situation with interest.

Dallas Cowboys bosses have been locked in a stalemate with their unhappy linebacker.

Parsons, 26, recently rocked the franchise by requesting a trade.

The former Penn State star is seeking a contract extension that would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

So far this kind of deal is yet to be put on the table, leading to Parsons looking elsewhere.

One such trade option could be the Rams.

Commenting on the speculation on Instagram, Donald admitted, “If Micah Parsons goes to the Rams, I might have to call 210ths and get in football shape.

“That d-line would be unreal.”

Donald’s comment didn’t go unnoticed by Parsons.

The Cowboys star replied, “Man!!! Don’t tell me info like that!!”

Parsons has been taking part in the walk-throughs each practice during Cowboys training camp.

But he has not been participating in team drills.

The Cowboys begin their regular season campaign at the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4.

And owner Jerry Jones is not confident that Parsons will suit up for the game.

The 82-year-old said, “No, absolutely not.

“A big part of that is his decision.

“How would I know that?”

Jones was then asked when the urgency for a deal would increase, and he insisted, “I’m urgent.”
