Fifa to introduce major change to offside decisions at Club World Cup to avoid repeat of Taiwo Awoniyi injury horror

CHELSEA and Manchester City players will avoid the risk of extra injuries from late-raised offside flags at the Club World Cup.

Fifa chiefs have now confirmed a new computer-led system will be used for the first time when the expanded 32-club tournament kicks off in Miami in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Fifa’s decision comes after Nottingham Forest ace Taiwo Awoniyi’s horror injury

And with the flag being raised if an attacker is just four INCHES offside, it will mean there SHOULD be no repeat of the offside guidelines that led to the horror injury sustained by Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi last month.

Nigerian Awoniyi was placed in an induced coma in hospital following urgent abdominal surgery after colliding with a post in the 2-2 draw with Leicester when assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis kept the flag down against Anthony Elanga.

Massey-Ellis was following International FA Board protocols brought in since the introduction of VAR on “tight” offsides, designed to prevent legitimate goalscoring chances being wiped out by premature whistles.

But the Fifa version of the semi-automated offside technology, being introduced at this summer’s 32-team tournament in the USA, will see the latest version of tracking cameras utilised.

That will see assistants automatically informed if an attacking player breaking the line and touching the ball is more than 10cm offside, allowing the flag to be raised earlier.

Each stadium will have 16 dedicated tracking cameras, linked to AI technology and algorithms, in addition to the sensor in the middle of the ball that was introduced at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Fifa ref’s chief Pierluigi Collina said: “The audio message, which will be “offside, offside”, will only go to the assistant referee when the player the algorithm has detected in an offside position touches the ball.

“Until they touch the ball, even if they are in an offside position, that message will not be sent.

“We are aware that the decision to keep the flag down was part of how VAR works, because you don’t want to raise the flag on a close situation and kill the chance of a goal.

“The assistants have been doing what we told them to do but it is clear that what is viewed as “close” has become bigger and bigger and bigger.

“At the same time, we want the assistants to be a bit braver and more courageous in these situations. If a player is 2m offside, that cannot be a tight decision.”

At this stage, PGMOL bosses have not planned to follow suit with the Fifa-style system next term, relying on the current guidelines once again.

But if the Club World Cup approach is deemed a success, the pressure for Prem bosses to order a change of tack will grow, especially if late flags bring any more injuries next season.

Fifa will also unveil the new Laws of the Game, including the “five second countdown” signal leading to a corner if a goalkeeper holds onto the ball for more than eight seconds.

Refs in the tournament will also be equipped with “Ref Cams”, attached to their ear pieces at eye level, giving TV and stadium viewers access to new angles of the play.

The only live shots will be at the toss before the game but referee’s views of key moments, including goals, will be shown on TV and stadium giant screens, and also available for officials to rule on VAR decision changes.

Madeleine McCann cops probe ‘gun found during Praia search’ after Brueckner had owned pistols

MADELEINE McCann cops were investigating two objects uncovered during their search described by local media as “guns”.

Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manha reported two firearms had been found in the area of scrubland above Praia da Luz, searched last week.

One of the handguns was dismissed as “irrelevant” to the McCann investigation and linked to another probe.

The other weapon, found in a well, was said to be more modern. Both were described as rusty and historic with cops expecting neither to hold Maddie links.

However, prime suspect Christian Brueckner, 48, is said to have carried a gun during his time in the Algarve.

A Sun investigation revealed he previously owned two antique pistols.

A Portuguese investigator, speaking on condition of anonymity, said of the gun reports: “The objects found are very old and very rusty.

“I’d describe them almost as archeological artefacts.”

Another well-placed insider added: “One has already been ruled out as having any connection to the Maddie inquiry.

“A separate investigation is underway to try to establish how it ended up where it did and what exactly it is.”

Reports claimed all the objects and samples taken from the search were set to be tested in Portuguese capital Lisbon.

Sources in Germany said anything of value would be retained by German investigation leads.

Luis Neves, the National Director of the Policia Judiciaria police force insisted last Friday the searches had “not been in vain” despite the apparent lack of results.

Love Island exes back ON after bitter split and trading public swipes

LOVE Island exes Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore are back together – just a week after their bitter public split.

Last week The Sun revealed that the All Stars couple had gone their separate ways after deleting each other off their social media.

A source said the pair are giving their romance another go[/caption]

But the pair are hoping that it’s third time lucky and are giving their rocky on/off romance another go.

A source told The Sun: “Harriett and Ronnie are speaking again and getting back together.

“They’re so on and off – it’s like they row when they’re together but can’t live without each other.”

Their reps had no comment when approached by The Sun.

Their recent split came just days after the couple were hit with split fears by concerned fans.

Fans had spotted that footballer Ronnie, 28, had deleted photos of Harriett, 25, from Instagram – sparking fears they had separated.

But Ronnie took to his Instagram story to deny that they’re on the rocks at the time, and said posts about the break-up are fake.

The Love Island star shared a screengrab from an Instagram page that claimed he and Harriett had split.

The post appeared to show Ronnie commenting: “Yeah it’s true. Will explain my side of things later,” along with the caption: “Ronnie Vint is sharing his side of that story with what happened with Harriett.”

But Ronnie insisted that was simply a cruel hoax by a social media user.

He wrote: “This is clearly a set up. Edited because we are sweet and I haven’t commented a thing. Thank you.”

Just a day before, Ronnie and Harriett posted a since-deleted story around the same time, saying “LOOOOL”, with a black background.

One fan wrote on Reddit: “Harriet and Ronnie broke up??

“Ronnie posted this on his IG story and deleted the movie premiere photo with Harriett.”

Another added: “This is not the first time he has done cryptic stories and archive and unarchived posts with her.

“Why make it obvious on socials? Just fight in private.

“I highly think their relationship will end on very bad terms with how clear it gets that it’s so unhealthy.”

A third shared: “Both wiped each other from their IG. How people do that so quick is beyond me.”

However, the photos in question were then back and restored on Instagram.

Since that speculation online, Harriett posted Instagram snaps of the pair enjoying a sunny holiday in Dubai, and captioned them: “Dreamiest week”.

They’ve also been enjoying time together in Ibiza recently, but have unfollowed each other while away.

It comes as the villa duo’s plans to move in together were recently revealed.

Harriett opened up to The Mirror, saying: “In June. Everything’s happening at once.

“We’re moving up towards London, which is exciting.

“It’s really close to Matilda (Draper), so we’ll be spending a lot of time with her and going back and forth.”

Last summer, the pair originally split just weeks after leaving the villa.

However, viewers watched as Harriet and Ronnie rekindled their connection on Love Island: All Stars.

Although Ronnie was an original All Stars islander, his then-ex entered as a bombshell on Day 11.

Having reunited, the pair fell short of winning after being “dumped” on Day 34 of 36.

Our town is a vile dust bowl making us ILL after months of relentless roadworks forced us to sell up

LOCALS in a market town are furious as roadworks continue to cause chaos nearly ten years on from when the work first started.

The work on a residential development in Stafford began in 2016 after plans were submitted for 475 new homes.

Many locals have to put up with the noise from the works[/caption]

While the houses have since been completed, the project is still far from finished as road improvement plans remain underway.

These plans include a new dual-carriageway, re-configuring a roundabout and installing several new sets of traffic lights.

However, beyond the works causing regular congestion on the A513, they have also left residents outraged.

One angry local, Jade, said: “It is just vile with all the dust and dirt.

“Now they have started work on the roundabout just by our place and there is digging, banging, and lorries reversing all through the night.”

Jade went on to explain that she is a mother of four and her son has autism so is struggling with the noise.

She added: “My little boy has autism and won’t sleep because of the noise.

“Everyone is fed up with the temporary lights and there being no safe spaces for kids to cross an A-road.

“It is also making me ill.”

Houses in this development cost a premium of up to £500,000, which only resulted in the properties being featured on an episode of Rip off Britain.

Teacher and mum-of-six, Rachel Kennedy moved to the development in October 2020.

After experiencing flooding both in her garden and also in the nearby playground, she has described the roadworks as an “added pain.”

She explained that her mile long route to school now takes up to 30 minutes.

Rachel said: “I have walked it but with four children under seven it is difficult.”

She also described the roundabout built at the top of her road as “unnecessary.”

Stafford Borough Council announced the works in February 2023, saying they would last 12 months.

However, 28 months on there is still no end in sight for the disgruntled residents.

Anton and his wife Tash, both 32, share similar frustrations to their neighbours.

The pair, who own an electrical business, said: “Everything about the estate is a pain.”

Anton added: “This was supposed to be a cul-de-sac but earlier this year they had to open it up as it was the only access point to the estate and we couldn’t get onto our drive because of the queuing cars.

“People were driving into the cones in frustration.”

In reference to the amount of dust the roadworks have caused, he added: “The only people happy around here are the window cleaners.”

Another fed-up local, Paula, 28, said: “We moved in four years ago and no-one told us there would be a building site opposite with great piles of rubble.

“We will wash our cars and overnight they collect dust.”

Paula, who works as a technical trainer, was promised green space upon moving to the development, however is still yet to see an end to the road works.

She said: “I understand the road works are necessary and will make things better but the finish date has been moved three times already.”

Mother of four and salon owner, Bailey Wilkin, explained that it has now reached a point where some of her neighbours are trying to sell up.

She said: “People are selling up but with all these works going on the houses are devalued.”

Another mum, Sophie, 28, added: “The school runs are really bad.

“They take forever and I am late for work all the time.

“There are so many temporary traffic lights and lots of people suffering road rage.

“It’s really unsafe.”

A resident from Parkside estate on the other side of the A513, Christine Taylor, 74, said: “My house could not be closer to the roundabout and they are working nights with diggers going all the time.

“It sets my dogs off barking all the time and now we are getting swarms of blue bottle flies.

“It must be something they’ve triggered.

“I filled out a form years ago for compensation but I’m quite sure nothing will come of it.”

Reportedly, the works include dualling of the A513 Beaconside, the creation of a new signalised junction on the north side of the A513 and the signalisation of Newbold Drive.

A Staffordshire County Council spokesperson said: “As a new administration, we are well aware that the ongoing works at Beaconside being carried out by Taylor Wimpey as part of its Marston Grange development are causing considerable disruption.

“As this scheme is wholly developer-led the county council has minimal influence or control on the works or their progress.

“However we will maintain regular contact with Taylor Wimpey and continue to press them to conclude as quickly as possible.

“All updates on the scheme are provided by Taylor Wimpey.”

A Taylor Wimpey representative added: “We understand the frustrations of the local community whilst we carry out the programme of works for the highway improvement project.

“Whilst these improvements are aimed at reducing journey times, easing congestion and improving safety for residents and road users, we acknowledge that there have been some unexpected delays which have impacted the local community.

“We recognise the need for clearer communication, and would like to apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused.

“We are committed to keeping disruption to a minimum, and we are working closely with stakeholders to ensure all works are completed by the end of November.”

Walmart & Target shoppers can get payment from $6.75m pot if they bought certain snacks at store – 64 items are affected

Collage of a woman shopping, holding a red basket, with inset images of Target and Walmart shopping carts.

SHOPPERS who bought popular snacks from Walmart, Target, and other big retailers could be in for a payment.

The company behind the product has agreed to pay $6.75 million over claims items were sold despite a risk of salmonella contamination.

The products were made by Quaker Oats, which is at the center of a sweeping class action lawsuit tied to a massive recall.

The lawsuit stems from a major recall first announced on December 15, 2023, and expanded in January 2024.

The products, including granola bars, cereals, breakfast snacks, and protein bars, were sold across the US.

A total of 64 products were named in the recall from Quaker Chewy Bars and Cap’n Crunch Treats to Gatorade Protein Bars.

Shoppers are included in the settlement class if they purchased any of the Quaker Covered Products subject to the recall in the US between the earliest date of distribution and March 13, 2025.

Anyone who bought items for resale isn’t eligible to file a claim.

Proof of purchase isn’t required, but those who do have receipts may receive a full refund, according to the settlement website.

Without proof, shoppers may still receive the average retail price of two products plus a 10% sales tax allowance.

LAWSUIT CLAIMS

Quaker Oats denied all wrongdoing but agreed to the payout to resolve claims it falsely marketed its products as safe.

The lawsuit argued the food giant should have known its items were unsafe and failed to warn consumers.

“Plaintiff and those similarly situated …certainly expect that the food products they purchase will not contain, or risk containing, any knowingly harmful substances that cause disease,” the class action lawsuit stated.

Lawyers claimed Quaker misled the public by promoting the items as safe despite the risk of salmonella contamination.

Quaker stands behind the safety of its products and accuracy of its marketing and product labeling, according to the settlement website.

The class action was led by New York resident Raymond Kessler, who said he trusted the brand to sell safe food.

He sought damages and a jury trial on behalf of all affected shoppers in New York.

The recall included popular items like Quaker Big Chewy Bars, Quaker Simply Granola, and Quaker Oatmeal Squares.

Cap’n Crunch cereals and instant oatmeal were also pulled from shelves over contamination fears.

In addition, snack variety packs from Frito-Lay that included Quaker bars were part of the recall.

Some consumers who were already reimbursed by Quaker for the recalled items will see reduced payouts from this new settlement.

To get money, shoppers must file a valid claim by June 27, 2025.

The deadline to opt out or object to the settlement is also June 27.

A final approval hearing is scheduled for August 4, 2025, in the Southern District of New York.

Quaker Oats didn’t immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

When Reeves hikes our taxes to fund spending splurge we won’t be thanking her – it’s a high-stakes bid take on Farage

ALMOST in every breath today Rachel Reeves spoke of making “Labour choices”.

But that is not the cuddly, Tory-lite Labour that we were promised before the election.

AFP
Rachel Reeves seen in the House of Commons, discussing her Spending Review[/caption]

Instead she has reached for the party’s old comfort blanket of higher taxes, higher borrowing and higher spending.

Her massive spree means she can point to shiny news infrastructure projects and talk the language of “renewal”.

But she is now running the economy at its uppermost limits after failing to get any serious grip on welfare and our spiralling debt.

It is a high-stakes gambit designed to win over working class voters that Labour is bleeding to Reform – who the Chancellor noticeably devoted time to attacking today.

Many of those flocking to Nigel Farage do so out of growing despair that – in his words – “Britain is broken”.

It is why she made big plays on ploughing money into defence, the NHS and ending migrant hotels.

But they won’t thank the Chancellor if it means putting their taxes up even more in the Autumn…

It hasn’t been an easy 11 months for Ms Reeves – in fact, it has been brutal.

Her short Chancellorship has been blighted by the winter fuel debacle, fury over tax hikes, angry farmers and rows over welfare spending.

A YouGov survey today found just 12 per cent of voters think she is doing a good job.

Ms Reeves will hope today marks the point those paltry popularity numbers start to rise.

Or it could be the moment where things start to get even worse.

Sabrina Carpenter strips down to her bra and underwear for a bath with PIGS as she announces new album

SABRINA Carpenter sent fans wild as she stripped off to pose in a bath with PIGS after announcing her new album.

The Espresso hitmaker, 26, revealed today that Man’s Best Friend will be released on August 29.

And she celebrated the news by sharing some behind the scenes snaps from the video of her latest single Manchild.

One of the photos showed Sabrina wearing nothing but her underwear as she took a bubble bath with two pigs.

The pop star was seen smiling for the camera in the tub with her thumbs up, while another snap saw her running in a white shirt and underwear.

Sabrina captioned the upload: “Manchild bts

“Take a shot every time I wear a new outfit.”

Sabrina also stunned in a cropped pink jacket and matching skirt.

It comes after the release of the single earlier this month, when fans immediately assumed Sabrina took a savage swipe at ex-boyfriend Barry Keoghan

Sharing the news on Instagram, she said: “This one’s about you!! ‘Manchild’ is out this Thursday 6/5 8pm EST.”

While Sabrina didn’t explicitly say it was about Irish actor Barry – who is set to play Ringo Starr in the upcoming four-part Beatles biopic film series – fans wasted no time assuming it was about the pair, considering their split last year.

Sabrina and Barry were first connected in September 2023, making their first public appearance together at the Grammys after-party in February 2024.

They later attended the MET Gala together, with Barry being seen on the side of the stage throughout some of Sabrina’s performances.

The actor, who shot to fame in Saltburn and The Banshees of Inisherin, later had a starring role in her music video for Please Please Please, which depicts the story of a woman deciding to ignore warnings of a potential romance, but begging her love interest not to embarrass her.

However, in August, The Sun on Sunday confirmed Sabrina dumped Barry after growing tired of his party lifestyle.

Justin Bieber could be placed in conservatorship by Hailey if she can prove 3 points to court amid his bizarre behavior

JUSTIN Bieber could be placed in a conservatorship by wife Hailey if she can prove three key points to the courts amid his concerning behavior, a legal expert has told The U.S. Sun.

In recent weeks, the pop star has gone on bizarre rants and appeared incoherent in photographs and videos – leading many fans to believe it’s time for Justin, 31, to seek help.

If Justin’s behavior continues to be as dangerous as many believe, it’s not out of the question that he could be placed in a conservatorship for his well-being.

“As a seasoned attorney, I’ll say this bluntly: If Justin Bieber’s recent behavior is as troubling as reported amidst erratic social media posts, visible signs of impairment, and statements hinting at isolation and emotional instability, then YES, a conservatorship could be considered,” acclaimed lawyer Jamie Wright exclusively told The U.S. Sun.

However, the decision would not be made lightly, as the powerhouse legal expert made it clear that conservatorships are “legal nuclear options.”

“In California, a conservatorship is a court-ordered plan where a designated person (conservator) is appointed to manage the affairs, personal care, or finances of an adult deemed unable to manage these on their own.

“This isn’t just about being ‘out of it’ on Instagram. Courts require substantial medical evidence, and the bar is high.

“Especially post-Britney, with the public and legal community rightfully wary of abuses in the system,” Counselor Wright said of Britney Spears’ unprecedented, and historic, conservatorship case

She went on to explain that in most conservatorship cases, the spouse or parent would have legal standing to file.

However, in order for Hailey, 28, or Justin’s mom, Pattie Mallette, to have a case, they would need to “demonstrate that Justin is incapable of making rational decisions, poses a risk to himself or others —  including his infant son, or is unable to manage his financial empire,” she claimed.

Many fans have been concerned over Justin’s social media posts[/caption]

“If a conservatorship were granted, it could have profound implications. Legally, Justin could lose control over decisions about his health, money, and even parental rights.

“Custody of his child could be questioned if there’s evidence he’s an unfit parent.

“It would certainly put pressure on his marriage with Hailey and would raise serious reputational questions that could derail future endorsements, brand partnerships, and touring plans.

“He’s young, powerful, and high-profile, so any conservatorship move would face intense public scrutiny and likely pushback.

“But when safety, especially of a child, is on the line, no one is untouchable. If this situation escalates, the law will step in.

“Bottom line, no one wants to see another celebrity conservatorship saga play out — but if the signs are as serious as they seem, it’s not out of the question,” Counselor Wright added.

‘HE NEEDS HELP’

Recently, Justin sparked concern with a series of comments he’s made online – including openly discussing drug use and being “done with transactional relationships.”

Things escalated further when the Sorry singer took to his Instagram Stories, posting close-up selfies where many said he looked “unwell.”

One slide he shared this week featured a screenshot from an AI chat interface asking: “Has ketamine been used to control people’s emotions?”

The AI chatbot allegedly answered: “There is clear evidence that ketamine has been misused in certain law enforcement scenarios, particularly in ways that amount to chemical restraint or social control.”

In another slide, Justin superimposed text over a photo of himself looking defeated: “This is how I feel after people keep telling me theres more work to do after the ive given everything I have to give.”

Welcome Baby Bieber!

  • The pair announced the birth on August 24, sharing their son’s name, Jack Blues Bieber, for the first time.
  • Justin shared a photo of Hailey’s hand touching their newborn’s foot, which was wrapped in a blanket.
  • Justin’s great-grandfather was Jack Arnold, and his father, Jeremy Bieber, has Jack as a middle name.

He followed up with: “I dont think any of us can handle hearing ‘You just gotta try a little harder and you will be like me.’ It’s not true.

“I listened to those fools who told me to work harder. And there’s no end to trying to earn ur spot in this life because I tried. U have everything u need right now.”

On another snap, he admitted: “We wanna make our life about work so bad. But this life is about God. Loving us so we can love eachother. Quit making ur life about work smh. God will always inspire u to wait to work hard.

“U think if you don’t tell people to work hard that they won’t. Stop playing God please.”

Justin went on: “Conditioning. Will make u feel i didn’t know what the f*** u knew.”

This cryptic post was followed by another black-and-white selfie with the caption: “But I f***in always knew in my gut Jesus was always the answer to pain we are all facing.

“People still keep making me think If I work hard on myself I’ll be better like them. But the harder I work on myself the more I think about myself. I though the point was to think about one another?”

He finished with: “The only thing that helps me to think about others to let go not try harder. Join me in letting go of not trying harder.”

This follows reports that Justin is also facing great financial strain – allegedly owing his former manager, Scooter Braun, over $8 million, audits obtained by TMZ claim.

‘Can’t stand it’ – Aaron Rodgers banned by NFL from using iconic helmet that he’s used for past 20 years

AARON Rodgers has voiced his frustration with the NFL’s decision to ban a helmet brand that he’s worn throughout his 20-year career.

The newly signed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback opened up about the ban during Tuesday’s mandatory minicamp.

Rodgers participated in his first workout with the Steelers after signing a one-year, $13.5 million contract with the team last weekend.

The 41-year-old is focused on being comfortable while playing, and that means finding a new helmet.

Rodgers will have to find a new helmet after the NFL banned his preferred helmet in April.

The four-time NFL MVP revealed his disdain for a new helmet he rocked during Tuesday’s first mandatory minicamp session.

“I can’t stand the helmet,” Rodgers told reporters.

He then spoke about the Schutt helmet in which he’s worn since entering the NFL way back in 2005.

“I’ve worn a Schutt for 20 years and somehow it finally didn’t pass the safety standard,” Rodgers added.

Last year, while with the New York Jets, Rodgers sported the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD helmet.

But the NFL had contemplated a decision whether to ban the specific helmet and listed it as “not recommended” for player use.

The helmet is now banned.

Rodgers was forced to wear the helmet in 2019 after his previous Schutt helmet was banned.

He will have to once again find a new helmet.

It appeared Rodgers chose to rock a Schutt F7 Pro model helmet on Tuesday, which has passed the NFL’s annual study.

After the annual helmet performance and safety study, the NFL and the NFL Players Association banned seven other models this offseason.

  • Riddell Speed
  • Riddell Revolution Speed Classic
  • Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD
  • Xenith Epic+

Rodgers will have a little less than three months to figure out the right helmet to wear on Week 1.

He will hope to get his revenge when he faces his former team Jets, on September 7 at MetLife Stadium.

New McDonald’s Snack Wrap ‘doesn’t hold a candle to the past’ as fans blast ingredient change to cult classic chicken

A NEW McDonald’s Snack Wrap has been blasted by fans over an ingredient change to the cult classic chicken.

Fans have slammed the new menu item, claiming that they are “horrible” and “stringy”.

McDonald’s has just added McCrispy Strips to its US menu, but they don’t seem to be hitting the mark with customers.

The fast food giant first trialled the item in late April, and participating restaurants launched them on May 5.

The strips are the first permanent menu addition for the first time in four years, made with “juicy, 100% white meat, coated with crispy golden-brown breading and bursting with a bold, new black pepper flavor.”

But Loop Capital, a research firm, said that customers have been less than impressed with the strips.

In the note, Loop Capital analyst Alton Stump said the investment in the strips “hoped the superior taste profile of the new chicken strips would overcome the product’s appearance.”

He continued to claim that McDonald’s has “received predominantly negative customer feedback to date.”

But fans have taken to social media to slam the snack on Reddit.

One person said: “These are horrible and taste like oversized Dino nuggets.”

And another claimed that the strips “don’t hold a candle to the chicken selects of the past.”

Others called them “so stringy”, and said that McNuggets are “definitely better”.

There were some people who complimented the strips, however.

One fan praised: “They were good and loved the sauce!”

And another added that the strips are their “favorite thing at McDonald’s now.”

FUTURE DAMAGE

Loop Capital even suggested that the negative feedback to the strips could hurt the brand going forward.

This is despite the imminent return of the Snack Wrap, which is highly anticipated among fans.

McDonald’s is set to bring the Snack Wrap back on July 10 with spicy or ranch flavor options.

This will mark nine years since the fan favorite menu item was discontinued.

Stump went onto say that some customers feel the underwhelming reaction to the McCrispy Strips be a bad sign for the upcoming Snack Wrap.

Loop has projected that any bad reaction the the latest menu item hasn’t damaged McDonald’s sales too much.

The frim believes the chain will see a will see a 2% increase in its U.S. comparable sales during the second quarter of the year.

Over the entire year, this will jump 1.2%, according to Loop.

When the Snack Wrap makes it comeback, it will be doing so as a permanent offering to menus.

Only time will tell if the negative feedback to the McCrispy Strips does tarnish the Snack Wrap release.
