Aaron Rodgers sends clear 3-word message over starting Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback position for NFL 2025 preseason

AARON Rodgers is ready to make a big change to his normal preparation for an NFL season.

Rodgers, 41, has been in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers this summer.

Rodgers insists he’s open to playing in preseason if required[/caption]

He signed a one-year deal with the team after being released by the New York Jets.

The four-time MVP has rarely played in preseason games during the latter part of his career.

According to NBC’s Pro Football Talk, a 2023 preseason appearance for the Jets was his first since 2018.

But Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has often played his starters in August.

And Rodgers insists he’s “fully on board” if the team wants him to play preseason.

The Steelers have three preseason games in August before beginning their campaign at the Jets on September 7.

They play the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers in preseason games.

And Rodgers is open to playing some part in the exhibition games.

“It’s an interesting conversation,” he told reporters at Steelers training camp Wednesday.

“I think Mike and I have that at some point.

“I don’t think it’s in the plan for me to play this week.

“But whatever Mike wants to do, I’m fully on board.”

Rodgers is one of four quarterbacks currently on the Steelers roster.

He is in a room with Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and rookie Will Howard, who has a hand injury.

Rodgers signed for the Steelers in June after months of speculation over his future.

After his unveiling, the quarterback said working with coach Tomlin was a key factor in his decision.

He said, “A lot of decisions that I’ve made over my career and life from strictly the ego, even if they turn out well, are always unfulfilling.

“But the decisions made from the soul are usually pretty fulfilling.

“This was a decision that was best for my soul.

“I felt like being here with coach Mike Tomlin and the guys that got here, and the opportunity here was the best for me and I’m excited to be here.”

NFL fans left in disgust as Kansas City Chiefs bring in former division rival coach to training camp practice

FANS have been left shocked after the Kansas City Chiefs brought in a former division rival’s head coach.

But in a surprise move, the 46-year-old was spotted at a training camp practice session wearing Chiefs gear.

He was seen walking alongside defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who was once his coach at the New York Giants.

Under the experienced coach’s guidance, Pierce won the Super Bowl in 2007 by beating the New England Patriots.

There has been no official announcement over whether he is now joining Andy Reid‘s coaching team or whether he is just a guest defensive advisor.

But Spagnuolo is delighted to have his former star man with him at the Chiefs camp in Missouri.

Spagnuolo said: “I think you guys probably know this. Antonio and I have been close for a long time.

“In ’07 when I went to New York with the Giants, he was the linebacker.

“The present-day version of Antonio Pierce is (the Chiefs’) Nick Bolton now.

“He became a coach, and all the way to being a head coach, he obviously had that when he was a player.

“That’s a nice thing to have when you’re a defensive coordinator, a guy that’s that cerebral.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for Antonio. I’m glad he came through.”

Opening up on Pierce’s current role, Spagnuolo revealed: “The guys are loving having him.

The tight end wants to make amends for a bitter end to last year.

And when asked about his work ethic at camp, he sent a clear message.

“Trying to win Super Bowls, man,” Kelce declared.

The three-time champion also claimed he’s moved on from last season’s loss.

His Kansas City Chiefs were thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

“I’ve thrown that thing in the trash,” Kelce said about the Super Bowl loss.

“I’ve moved on. It happened sooner than you can imagine.

“I was pretty focused on this year in the offseason.”

Kelce also faced retirement questions given his advancing years and coming off the back of one of his least productive seasons.

He will turn 36 in October, but insisted that he still loves the football grind.

The Chiefs are at Missouri Western State University for their training camp.

Kelce said, “It gets me away from everything else that’s going on in this crazy world.

“You can really just focus in on your craft and focus in on being the best you can for the guys around you.

“Football has always been the biggest driving force I’ve ever had.

“I love coming out here and focusing on this and getting better for another run at hopefully a Super Bowl.
