The Chase’s The Beast ‘so bored’ on date he fell ASLEEP halfway through filming Celebs Go Dating

QUIZ whizz Mark Labbett dozed off while out with a woman on Celebs Go Dating.

The star, known as The Beast on ITV game show The Chase, was so bored that he slipped into a snooze.

It happened during filming for the Channel 4 show last month.

A source said: “Mark was yawning a lot and drifted off briefly.

“It was a bit of an awkward moment.

“It’s safe to say there wasn’t much of a spark between them.”

Mark married his second cousin, Katie, in 2014, but the pair split in 2020.

He then started dating TV presenter Hayley Palmer, 43, in 2023, but they broke up after a year.

Speaking about Hayley last year, Mark told The Sun: “She’s a lovely lady and I was very lucky to date her for a year, and as I said: it’s me, I got old.

“There’s been no one since Hayley.

“I’m not saying there won’t be another one. But I’m certainly not looking.”

Speaking about his love life, he said: “I was single, not coincidentally, for a long, long time when I was a 29st maths teacher who knew it was quite hard to attract a partner then.

“So I’m quite comfortable without a partner.”

Asked about Mark’s sleepy date, his representative told The Sun: “If his date was as boring as you have suggested, I’m surprised he didn’t take a pillow with him!”

A Celebs Go Dating spokeswoman was approached for comment.

Fan favourite Celebs Go Dating star lands huge new show after ‘stepping more into the limelight’

AFTER years behind the reception desk at the Celebs Go Dating agency, Tom Read Wilson has now been promoted.

I can reveal he is finally stepping into the spotlight with a show of his own, called The Grand Tour With Tom Read Wilson.

The historical travelogue for Channel 5, which is currently in production, will follow a similar format to that of Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s successful BBC show — which won the twosome a Bafta earlier this year.

So Channel 5 hopes to strike gold with their offering, which comes from the team behind Ross Kemp’s documentaries, and Josie Gibson’s First Class Travel Show.

A source revealed: “The success of Rob and Rylan’s series has proved that there’s a healthy appetite from viewers for smart, entertaining and comedic journeys through history — and now Channel 5 want some of the pie.

“Tom has long been a big fan favourite on Celebs Go Dating, thanks to his dry wit and one- liners, so it makes sense for him to step more into the limelight.

‘Famous landmarks’

“This new series, which will see Tom take on a solo presenting role, combines history and culture as he explores famous landmarks and delves into the stories behind these attractions.

“Filming has already begun and fans can expect to tune in later this year.”

Tom first rose to fame as a contestant on ITV singing contest The Voice before finding a home on the E4 dating show.

He also made his debut on Channel 5 last year, as presenter of The Christmas Taste Test, which saw him put brands to the test to uncover the best supermarket festive goodies.

He has featured, too, in BBC cooking show Celebrity Best Home Cook, as a talking head on Channel 5 documentary Aldi Vs Lidl, and on Channel 4 gameshow Darling, What Have You Done To Your Hair?

Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour took home won the Entertainment award at the Baftas last month, after fighting off competition from the likes of Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out and the BBC’s Race Across The World.

Tom will now hope that when he hits the road, his Grand Tour will enjoy similar success with viewers.

THE IT Crowd star Katherine Parkinson is to play Ron Weasley’s mum Molly in the Harry Potter HBO TV series.

In further casting, child star Lox Pratt will be Draco Malfoy, and Johnny Flynn his dad Lucius.

Filming will start soon, at London’s Warner Bros Studios.

AS series two of queer dating show I Kissed A Boy airs on BBC Three, it’s been revealed spin-off I Kissed A Girl will also get a second run.

The girls’ show, the first of its kind in the UK, made its debut last year – after 2023’s first season of I Kissed A Boy.

BBC
Dannii Minogue hosts I Kissed A Boy[/caption]

It will return later this year with ten singles meeting for the first time with a kiss.

Applications to take part are now open on the BBC Take Part website.

Dannii Minogue, who hosts both the boys’ and girls’ shows, in TV house the Masseria in Italy, said: “I Kissed A Girl [series one] was groundbreaking for female representation, and I can’t wait for the return.

“Let’s see what the Italian sun does for kisses and connections.

“I’m ready to be Cupid – get ready for Masseria mania.”

KITCHEN queen Mary Berry struggled to help Alan Carr cook when he appeared on her BBC series Foolproof Dinners last year – but it’s no secret the comic is NO chef.

He proved as much on The Great British Bake Off’s Stand Up To Cancer special in 2018 – two years after Mary quit as a judge – when he served up a disastrous tribute cake to children’s TV show Rainbow . . . that was rock solid.

Now, he has revealed his bake was so bad, that after filming stopped on the Channel 4 show even production crew declined to take a bite, except for one particularly hungry cameraman.

Chatting on his Life’s A Beach podcast, with guest Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, Alan revealed: “What people don’t know is, they leave all the cakes at the back for the cast and crew to tuck in.

“Mine was intact.”

Paul said of show leftovers: “If I eat it, it all goes and savoury stuff tends to disappear first on set more than the desserts.”

But he said of Alan’s creation: “It was bad.

“I’ve tried to delete it from my mind.”

Cleveland Browns locker room showing signs of a ‘split’ after Shedeur Sanders and Joe Flacco incident spotted

THE Cleveland Browns locker room has reportedly been uneasy following a moment between Shedeur Sanders and Joe Flacco.

The 2025 fifth-round rookie Shedeur Sanders and 39-year-old veteran Flacco are competing in a crowded Browns quarterback room.

Last week, a video on social media showed Sanders and Flacco lined up for practice drills at the Browns’ Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Sanders was mic’d up as he asked Flacco, “You ever hit that dance?” before dancing.

Flacco shut down the question, however, as he answered, “Definitely not. I don’t think if I’ve ever hit a public dance move in my life.”

The 17-year NFL veteran then walked away as the video ended.

It was reported by Marca that sources close to the Browns believe that there has been a “split” locker room on the beliefs of Sanders.

The 23-year-old has energized some of the players, most notably of the younger variety, in the locker room.

Sanders has built chemistry with numerous teammates thanks to his personality and presence on social media.

However, some of the veteran players have reportedly kept their distance from the son of Deion Sanders.

There have also been others who haven’t been pleased with Shedeur’s TikToks and live streams during practices.

Nonetheless, Sanders has impressed during his practice time with the team.

But his standing on the 53-man roster this season isn’t locked in.

Sanders is part of a quarterback room that has five quarterbacks in total, including the injured Deshaun Watson.

One of Flacco or Kenny Pickett is expected to win the Browns’ starting quarterback role in Week 1.

Sanders will compete with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

The Browns drafted Gabriel in the third round of April’s NFL Draft.

Apple unveils major iPhone trick to help you understand and SPEAK foreign languages

APPLE has unveiled a futuristic new feature that will help millions of people overcome language barriers.

Using artificial intelligence (AI), your iPhone may soon be able to translate conversations on the fly.

On FaceTime, you’ll receive instant live translated captions as you speak[/caption]

It will work in the Messages, FaceTime and the Phone app.

For example, if you’re studying abroad and wanting to make plans with some new friends but are stuck behind a language barrier.

The new Live Translate feature means each text is instantly translated after receiving it – or sending it.

On FaceTime, you’ll receive instant live translated captions as you speak.

While on a phone call, your words are translated as you speak.

It even works when you call or text someone who doesn’t have an iPhone.

Apple noted that all your conversations will be processed and translated on the device for security purposes.

That means they’re not being sent to servers elsewhere to be translated.

Apple has also added more translation capabilities to Apple Music.

Listeners will now be able to have lyrics translated in the app, alongside a new pronunciation tool to help you learn your favourite foreign songs.

The feature will become available in iOS 26 – Apple’s next big software update for iPhones.

But it won’t just be available on Apple’s handsets – but its desktops and laptops too.

Live Translation – as well as the nifty new Hold Assist tool – will also be available on Mac.

Every iPhone model that won’t get free iOS 26 upgrade revealed – millions to miss out as exact list confirmed by Apple

iPhone models with call notification.

MILLIONS of older iPhones are set to be locked out of Apple’s next big update.

Apple fans across the world are due to get the free iOS 26 upgrade later this year, giving their iPhones bonus features at no extra cost.

Apple’s iPhone XS, which came out back in 2018, won’t get the new iOS update[/caption]

That’ll include a robot that holds on phone calls so you don’t have to, the ability to send polls in Messages, a translation feature that lets you understand foreign languages in real time – plus a brand new “glassy” look for your iPhone icons and menus.

These tempting perks were announced during today’s special Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) event at Apple’s California HQ.

It’s coming to dozens of iPhone models going back years – but not all Apple customers are on the lucky list.

Several once-posh iPhone models are being cut-off, despite being able to get last year’s iOS 18 update.

Phones as far back as the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2nd gen) will be able to get iOS 26.

But if you’ve got an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, or iPhone XS Max, you’re out in the cold.

Anything older than that won’t be eligible for the upgrade either – but that’s no surprise, as they would’ve missed iOS 18 too.

Here’s the full list of iPhone models getting Apple’s iOS 26 update:

  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16
  • ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max
  • iPhone 15

  • ‌iPhone‌ 12

  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • ‌iPhone‌ 11
  • ‌iPhone‌ 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (3rd gen)
  • ‌iPhone‌ SE (2nd gen)

If you’ve got an older iPhone, now would be a good time to upgrade – or you’ll miss out.

THE SECOND CUT-OFF

It’s worth noting that just because you can get iOS 26 doesn’t mean you’ll unlock the full suite of features either.

Some artificial intelligence perks under the Apple Intelligence banner only appear on the very newest model.

For those, you’ll need one of the following gadgets:

  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16
  • ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max
  • iPhone 15 Pro

You don’t necessarily need Apple Intelligence to get by, but it has some handy benefits.

It lets you create custom Genmoji emoji, can help you rewrite emails, and lets you use Siri to tap into ChatGPT.

WHAT’S NEW IN IOS 26?

For a start, it’s called iOS 26 and not iOS 19 as expected.

That means Apple is matching the main year for the software, making naming simpler. This is true for iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro software too.

There’s a new look for apps with glassy, translucent, round-edged icons and circular buttons, and a transparent design borrowed from the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The Phone app has been upgraded to streaming your Favourites, Recents, and Voicemails into a single panel.

Safari has a glossy new design, and the Camera app has been simplified.

Messages now allows you to send polls, and set synced backgrounds for your chats.

Basketball Wives star Brittany Renner once linked to Shaq announces divorce from rapper Kevin Gates after just 52 days

The pair lasted just 52 days as a married couple.

She converted to Islam last year[/caption]

Renner explained the short stint as husband and wife is related to their religion.

Rapper Gates and Renner are both Muslim, and Islam implements a 90-day waiting period for couples to test their relationship and attempt to conceive.

Renner explained in an interview with REAL 92.3 LA: “We got married April 6 and divorced May 28.

“There is a 90-day waiting period in Islam, where you have 90 days to see if you’re pregnant because then he would be responsible.

“But also in those 90 days, it’s for recommendation because the law wants you to stay married. And during those 90 days, you are not to entertain anybody romantically.

“So, what I will say is Islam has made my life easier.

“Honestly, I don’t think anybody gets married to not stay married. So this is a nice 90-day reset, just focusing on myself.”

Renner, 33, does not feel too downbeat despite her relationship working out.

That is because she feels she put her all into the marriage, so is at peace with the decision not to continue.

She said: “A lot of people, their issue is, even just in dating, in marriage, it’s people just don’t give it their all.

“They don’t just go for it. But I feel like when you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens because I gave 100 per cent.

“I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.”

Renner was previously linked to NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

The pair shared a meal at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2023, where they shared a meal.

Renner converted to Islam in August and began her relationship with Gates earlier this year.

She said of her partner in the height of their relationship: “All I can say is, is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of.

“And to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him, even to have him here behind me, it’s like so surreal.

“He’s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever met.”

Huge reason why certain wedding costs are up 35% and how it’s ‘devastating’ couples – top tips to stay on your budget

RISING wedding costs are a key concern for brides and grooms across the country due to a key reason.

As tariffs and other economic factors weigh heavily on Americans’ minds before they tie the knot, there are a few simple strategies that spouses-to-be can implement to help stay on track with their budget.

Brides and grooms can use a few key strategies to help keep their wedding on budget[/caption]

While the average wedding cost has slightly decreased, tariffs on imported goods are putting pressure on specific areas of the wedding budget, causing concern for many couples.

These levies are bumping up the prices of wedding necessities, making an already costly life event even more expensive.

From alcohol and flower arrangements to the wedding dress and centerpiece decorations, a number of wedding day essentials will be impacted by tariffs if they are imported, per wedding website The Knot.

Up to 80% of cut flowers and 90% of wedding dresses sold in the US are imported, which could spike the price of American weddings.

Many vendors are already feeling the impact of the tariffs.

For example, florist Allison Krivachek from Iowa is seeing the price of imported flowers increase due to the tariffs.

“When they first came out, it was like, oh my gosh, this is going to be really devastating,” she told USA Today.

“We were seeing anywhere from 10% to 25%, and when you’re talking about a wedding in flowers, when it’s $5,000 plus, that 10% to 25%… really adds up quickly.”

Wedding gowns are also becoming more expensive due to tariffs because many of the components to design and make a dress come from various countries, Nayri Kalayjian, owner of Lovella Bridal in Los Angeles, told USA Today.

“Price increases are everywhere, so the wedding industry is no different, no matter where the gown is being manufactured,” she said.

Some designers are simply raising the price while others are tacking on a tariff surcharge, anywhere from 10% to 35%, according to Kalayjian.

FRUGAL FESTIVITIES

Although over half of engaged couples have not seen tariffs impact their weddings yet, roughly 36% were making changes to their plans due to economic stress, per a survey from The Knot.

The majority of brides and grooms were concerned about keeping their wedding costs within their budget as inflation and tariffs pressure the industry.

However, instead of cutting back on their budget, couples can use a few strategies to remain on budget and have the wedding of their dreams.

By the numbers

A survey of 741 engaged brides and grooms revealed the following wedding stats:

  • 73% of couples said keeping costs within their budget was their top concern
  • 46% said economic factors like inflation were a major concern
  • 34% were concerned about the rising costs of goods that could impact weddings
  • 15% were concerned about price changes due to tariffs
  • 58% had not seen tariffs impact their weddings yet
  • 36% said they were making changes to their plans due to economic stress

Source: USA Today / The Knot

Many wedding couples have addressed their concerns regarding the tariffs by taking proactive steps to reduce their costs.

For example, roughly one in every three couples is buying wedding essentials ahead of future price hikes to secure the lower costs.

Many marital pairs are also buying local products and those made in the US to avoid the extra costs associated with import fees.

Another way to help stay on budget is by slightly dropping your wedding guest count.

Nearly 30% of couples plan to reduce their guest list by roughly 25 people or 12 couples, so the overall guest experience is not sacrificed.

Spouses-to-be can also consult wedding professionals to help them manage their budget.

For example, vendors are a great resource to help couples assess where to make changes to fit their budget or plan for increases, Lauren Kay, executive editor of The Knot, told USA Today.

“They want to help you have the best wedding ever and they want to help you pull that off, whether that’s avoiding a tariff or making a trade off so your budget isn’t terribly impacted,” she said.

Many couples, however, are not necessarily panicking in the face of looming tariffs.

“It’s not so much of a concern about the tariffs, itself, but just thinking about how we are going to plan our weddings and stay within budget with all of the economic factors that we’re facing today,” she said.

The average cost of a wedding in the US has actually dropped in recent years, from $35,000 in 2023 to $33,000 in 2024, per The Knot’s Real Weddings 2025 Study.

However, tariffs are still making their mark in the wedding industry and other sectors alike, such as retail.

For example, Walmart and Target are “hiding cost hikes” as employees admit they’ve been “tearing off tags.”

A Target employee admitted that a popular item got an $8 markup overnight just hours after Walmart confirmed costs will skyrocket.

Millions of phone owners getting ‘Hold’ robot that waits for human helper FOR you – saving you hours of misery

APPLE is giving iPhone owners their very own personal robot assistant that will wait in phone call queues for you.

The tool will go on hold so you don’t have to.

Apple / WWDC
Apple fans have been calling for the feature for months[/caption]

For example, when you call a business and you’re put on hold, you can get Apple’s new Hold Assist tool to wait in line for you.

It will then notify you when the human support rep is ready to speak with you.

Google has a similar tool, called Hold For Me, for Android phone owners.

Apple fans have been calling for the feature for months.

“I’d love to basically have a “hold for me” feature, like the Google Pixels have had for a while now,” one Apple user wrote on Reddit earlier this year.

“Basically, the phone detects when you are on hold, and can mute the call and notify you when there’s finally a person on the other line.”

But that’s not all.

At this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple also unveiled a new Call Screening feature.

It aims to tackle unwanted calls, helping you gauge whether a phone call is important or another pesky telemarketer.

The tool automatically answers calls from unknown numbers in the background – so you won’t even realise it’s happening.

After the caller gives their name and reason for calling, the phone rings and offers you a transcription of what they said.

This way, you can either pick up the phone or ignore it.

The features will become available in iOS 26 – Apple’s next big software update for iPhones.

But they won’t just be available on Apple’s handsets – but its desktops and laptops too.

Hold Assist and Call Screening – as well as the nifty new Live Translation tool – will also be available on Mac.

Elon Musk’s estranged dad Errol hails Russia as the ‘peak of civilisation’ & gushes over Putin at staged Moscow event

TESLA tycoon Elon Musk’s estranged dad Errol has hailed Russia as the “peak of civilisation” – and even gushed over mad Vladimir Putin.

Errol Musk, 79, made the explosive remarks in Moscow where he appeared at a Kremlin-backed event organised by the Russian dictator’s inner circle.

US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk (R) speak before departing the White House two months ago[/caption]

It comes just days after his billionaire son’s high-profile alliance with the US President imploded in a fierce online feud.

Musk Snr took part in the Tsargrad propaganda forum where he bizarrely declared Moscow the “best capital” in the world.

Marking his first time in Russia, Errol said: “I think the image that people give to us in the West of Russia is completely wrong.

“Russia is wonderful, it’s absolutely amazing.

He added how it was “quite clear” that Moscow was better than any other city across the globe.

Not only did the South African businessman praise Russia however, but also its mad leader Putin and, in turn, challenged the West’s portrayal of him and his country.

Errol said: “I think [Putin] is a very impressive man – he’s proved that. A very stable, impressive man.

“As for the perception of Russia, it’s very wrong.”

He added: “So the perception in America by the media, I will call it the fake media, is that Russia is a bad place and its full of very bad people, and they’re all going to kill you to come here, which is complete nonsense.”

He explained how he was coming to Russia with his daughter Alexandra – but his sons told her that she musn’t go “under any circumstances”.

And after Errol himself claims to have been given warnings on going to Moscow, he said he “arrived here, and the first thing I saw was a perfect total civilisation in every direction.”

He added: “I see a city that easily rivals ancient Rome.

“And probably, I made a comment to somebody earlier, it’s by far not by a little but by far the premier capital city in the world.”

Errol also discussed his estranged Tesla tycoon son Elon and his astronautics exploration company SpaceX – but credited Russia as originally being the “leader” of space engineering before his son “took over”.

He said it “all started off with the Russian attempts” which he said were “quite amazing”.

Just a day ago, speaking of the explosive feud between Elon and US President Trump, Musk Snr revealed that his son was grappling with regret and fatigue from his turbulent stint in Washington.

He said: “So at the moment, Elon is inclined to say that he’s made a mistake.”

“Trump will prevail. He’s the president, he was elected as the president.

“Elon made a mistake, I think, but he’s tired, he’s stressed.

“They are all suffering from a bit of PTSD, a post-traumatic stress disorder over the last few months, they started hitting out at each other.

“And then in the end, it’s just him and Trump left… They still don’t know what to do, so they fight with each other until they can come to normal conditions.”

And in response to a question from a Russian propaganda publication on how to “raise a genius,” Errol said that a child needed to be “spanked a lot”.

Errol’s ex-wife and Elon’s mum Maye accused him of beating her during their marriage.

She also once revealed that Elon tried to stand up for her during one of the beatings as a child.

Errol has always denied being abusive to his ex-wife.

Errol will speak at the Future Forum 2050, organised by Malofeev and Putin ideologist and “philosopher” Alexander Dugin.

Meanwhile, Russia appears eager to capitalize on Musk’s estrangement from the US political elite.

Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev cheekily offered to mediate peace talks between “D and E” — Trump and Elon— “for a reasonable fee and to accept Starlink shares as payment.”

Another Kremlin loyalist, ex-space chief Dmitry Rogozin, publicly offered Musk asylum.

“You are respected in Russia. If you encounter insurmountable problems in the US, come to us and become one of us,” Rogozin wrote.

Russia would offer him “reliable comrades and complete freedom of technical creativity”.

TRUMP FALLOUT

The world’s richest man Musk — who reportedly donated $288 million to Trump’s 2024 campaign and briefly served as a White House aide — has now turned on the president over his sweeping tax and spending bill.

Elon even claimed on X that Trump was tied to disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epsteinthough the post was later deleted and the White House dismissed the allegation outright.

Their bromance is now beyond repair.

On Sunday, Trump confirmed to NBC that he has no interest in making amends: “I would assume so, yeah,” he said when asked if their relationship was over. “I have no intention of speaking to him.”

The former allies have been locked in an escalating war of words for days – throwing insults at each other in an explosive dispute.

What is Elon & Errol’s relationship?

By Annabel Bate, Foreign News Reporter

ERROL Musk and his son Elon have a very turbulent relationship, characterised by estrangement.

Elon has describd his dad as a “terrible human being” and “evil” in the past.

Meanwhile Errol has called his Tesla tycoon son a “spoilt child”.

Errol’s ex-wife and Elon Musk’s mum Maye accused him of beating her during their marriage.

She also once revealed that Elon tried to stand up for her during one of the beatings as a child.

Errol has always denied being abusive to his ex-wife.

After his parents divorced, Elon initially went to live with his mother in Canada.

But he was sent back to South Africa to live with Errol just a year later.

Errol said the split had a big impact on Elon’s mental state at the time.

He was very unsure of himself,” the 77-year-old said.

“Until he was 12 he slept with me in the main bedroom on my big double bed.

“He had his own room but I never told him to go to his room.”

Although there were struggles, the Musks were never short on money during Elon’s youth.

“It was a privileged world,” said Errol, who was the part owner of an emerald mine.
