And it’s a result that gives Portugal the chance to add yet another Nations League title to their ever-growing trophy cabinet.

However, teen sensation Lamine Yamal could have something to say about that as his double saw Spain pick off star-studded France in their nine-goal semi-final thriller.

Furthermore, Spain will be desperate to become the first team ever to retain the title after beating Croatia in the 2023 final.

But not only that, La Roja know how much they can earn should they be victorious.

Nations League final prize money 2025

The prize money for this year’s thrilling Nations League final has not yet been disclosed.

However, Spain banked a reported £8.8million for their triumph in 2023.

Runners-up Croatia pocketed just over £7.5m according to reports.

While third and fourth place were awarded £6.7m and £5.9m respectively.

How to watch the Nations League final 2025

  • Portugal vs Spain is available to watch for FREE on ITV1 in the UK as long as you hold a valid TV license.
  • Fans can also stream the entire action for FREE on ITVX with a mobile device, laptop or tablet.
  • The final will take place in Munich at the Allianz arena with Kick off to commence at 8pm BST.
  • Spain are the current holders after beating Croatia on penalties in 2023.

What has been said?

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said: “It’s very difficult to reach finals and the important thing about this team is they are hungry.

“They want more success, competing and winning.

“The look in the eyes of the players who had been there before and the new players was the same.

“I’m excited to see young players who want to make history for the national team.”

While Portugal boss Roberto Martinez stated: “We need to enjoy the [semi-final] victory – we won for the first time in a while against Germany.

“Tactically we were exceptional and our commitment helped. It was a team victory.

Our neighbours have painted their posh homes black to deter influencers taking pics – but we’ve taken different approach

RESIDENTS of a world famous London neighbourhood have painted their homes black to put off idiot influencers – but others are resorting to more drastic measures.

Locals living in swanky, colourful homes in and around Hillgate Village, Notting Hill, say TikTokers and tourists are ruining their lives.

Homeowner Diane has gone to desperate measures to put off unwanted visitors[/caption]

A small collection of former slum houses, the neighbourhood is now home to the wealthy, with property prices in the millions.

It was made famous worldwide by the 1999 film Notting Hill starring Hugh Grant, with the area’s bright and pastel-coloured homes continually being swamped with TikTokers doing impromptu photo shoots and dance videos for years.

Residents have told how “vain” influencers sit on their steps, peer in their windows and litter on the street.

Now, several homeowners in Hillgate Village and the surrounding area have taken drastic measures to curb the “irritating” visitors.

Some are dumping rubbish outside, while others are putting up chains, while one plans to chuck a bucket of water over any unwanted tourists.

Diane, who lives in a pastel blue house on Hillgate Place, told The Sun that she “doesn’t clean the front” of her house and leaves piles of rubbish dumped outside.

She hopes to make her home a less attractive backdrop for photo shoots and has employed the unusual tactic to help maintain her privacy.

Diane is also deliberately neglecting to repaint her house.

She said: “My privacy is interrupted, these houses go for a lot of money and sometimes it gets to the point that it’s not even worth it.”

Residents on nearby Lancaster Road have taken to repainting their houses black or dark blue to contrast to the pastel colours.

Some residents spoke of taking more extreme measures, Patricia Smith, who lives on Hillgate Place said the issue has “got worse and worse year by year”.

She added that she “wishes she had a bucket of water to pour over them [the influencers].”

Residents have put up privacy signs, CCTV, chains and ropes at their front doors in a desperate bid to discourage the hoards of influencers.

Despite the locals’ best efforts, “hundreds” of influencers still show up to snap pics in front of their homes.

Residents told of TikTokers lugging around tripods, changing tents and professional cameras to be used in extended photo shoots outside their front doors.

They also use garden fences as clothes racks and leave their possessions on residents cars, and several locals have had to shoo them away.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “In the last few years it’s gotten really out of hand, people are quite rude actually.

“They just leave rubbish all over.

“You can hardly move sometimes. I think it’s a shame because there’s nobody famous living here.

“If you ask someone ‘why are you taking a picture’ they look at you blankly like you’re mad.”

The resident went on to say the neighbourhood has become an “influencers paradise” with other locals calling it a “pain in the arse”.

Brent, who lives on Callcott Street, said: “I often have to tell them to get off the steps because they don’t realise the difference between the pavement and the steps.

“It’s incessant, its irritating. When people just come up and think it’s a nice background because the doors purple and take a photo I resent it.”

Locals are subject to dozens of visitors a day with hundreds coming during the holidays, weekends and when the weather is nice.

My privacy is interrupted, these houses go for a lot of money and sometimes it gets to the point that it’s not even worth it

DianeNotting Hill resident

They tell horror stories of influencers propping phones against their doors and dancing in front of their windows, completely disregarding residents’ privacy.

Michael Freeman, a photographer who lives on Callcott street, said: “We’ve been here for years, it wasn’t meant to be a tourist attraction.

“When we moved in, a lot of the houses had regular brick finishes.

“We went to some trouble to paint it, in the process of gentrification neighbours started to do it.

“It’s only in the last few years because of social media that it’s become a tourist attraction for heavens sake.”

Why are the homes in Hillgate Village pastel coloured?

The brick and stucco homes have only become pastel coloured after WW2 as the area has become increasingly affluent.

Kensington & Chelsea council has since designated Hillgate Village a ‘character area’.

There remains some homes in the village which have the original brickwork exposed.

The area was once described as a “slum” and the homes were lived in by brick makers, blacksmiths, and coach drivers.

Hillgate was nicknamed ‘The Racks’ and had a rough reputation for a century, until the area become popular in the post-war period.

He continued: “At some point, clearly it became promoted on foreign sites.

“Of course it’s an invasion of privacy, particularly at a weekend it’s full of people walking around taking pictures. It’s a bit silly.”

Michael went on to call Hillgate Village a “TikTok village” and said tourists flocked to the coloured houses mistaking them for movie locations.

Referencing the romcom Notting Hill, also starring Julia Roberts, which features a home with a blue door, he said: “It’s frustrating. Any blue door would do, you find people photographing opposite the wrong blue door.

“It’s to do with social media. It’s now been taken over by tourists, this street in particular.

“It is a bit annoying when people start climbing on steps. Yesterday I had to go out, some girls put their stuff on the hood of my car. A few times I’ve had to shoo people off.

“It’s obviously popular because they’re clean, bright colourful backgrounds.

“Some [influencers] are thoughtless in a way, a couple of girls a few weeks ago were sitting on my neighbours steps having lunch and left their rubbish there.”

The famous blue door which features in the movie, is in fact a mile away from Hillgate Village.

Homes all across Notting Hill are painted in bright or pastel colours and have been used in several films and TV series, the nearby Portobello Market also attracts thousands of tourists a year.

While The Sun was there this week an Italian tourist, who was visiting London for one day, arrived to take photos.

Beadrice, ignoring the other attractions London has to offer, said that despite only having a day in the Big Smoke she was desperate to use her time visiting the colourful Notting Hill streets.

Beadrice said: “We are here just for one day, we’re doing a super fast trip. I think that this district is famous for the film. I think that this is one of the most characteristic districts of London.

“We’re not taking photos for Instagram. We take photos for memories.”

Despite being drawn by the film Notting Hill, Beadrice and her friends were far from any location used in the making of the Richard Curtis-directed comedy movie in which a US film star falls in love with a shy Brit bookshop owner.

Patricia Smith who lives on Hillgate Place, said: “They’re here the whole time, especially on Saturdays, it’s a joke, they’re very funny, very vain.

“It’s very intrusive – they sit on your steps and don’t even get out the way. The behaviour is really extraordinary.

“They’re not interested in your privacy they’re interested in their own self importance. It’s a bit sad if that’s their main ambition in life.

“It tells more about them than it does about us, the vanity, I’ve seen people prop their phones on doorknobs and then dance, they come with little tents and change clothes and everything.

“It is irritating, sometimes I wish I had a bucket of water to pour over them. It’s not a massive problem but it is an irritation because they don’t respect your privacy.

“They actually assume it’s okay whereas it’s actually not, these are our properties. It’s just got worse and worse and worse year by year.”

‘There’s nothing you can do it about it’

Diane, who deliberately leaves the front of her house uncleaned and unpainted, added: “It’s very nice that people like our houses enough to want to photograph them.

“But you get people who are influencers and they bring lots of gear with them, cameras, tripods, it’s really annoying because they’re talking outside and there’s nothing you can do about it.

“They sometimes do photo shoots, professional ones are fine, they’re well organised and they don’t upset anybody.

“It’s quite annoying when they don’t ask the council for permission, it’s disruptive. I don’t want people to take photographs of my home.

“I don’t clean the front because I don’t want people taking photographs.

“If the weather is nice there’s a lot of people. They come and sit on the steps which is private, I would tell them to move but some people don’t feel they can. They hang their clothes on the railings, I have to tell them to move it.

“My privacy is interrupted, these houses go for a lot of money. Sometimes it gets point that it’s not even worth it.”

On nearby streets residents have taken to leaving out donation tins as a way of asking for compensation for the influencers intrusions.

Andrew, who lives on Westbourne Park Road, just round the corner from the famous blue door, said his neighbours have taken to putting up ropes and chains to stop entitled influencers sitting on their front steps.

He said: “They are oblivious to you completely. You just have to walk past them if they are in the middle of their photograph.”

Jamie Borthwick looks downcast as he is seen for the first time since being suspended from EastEnders over disabled slur

JAMIE Borthwick looked downcast as he was spotted for the first time today since being suspended from EastEnders.

The actor was under fire last night after it emerged he had used a sick disabled slur on the set of Strictly Come Dancing.

It was filmed while they were on set for the Blackpool special

This afternoon Jamie appeared deep in thought as he ran errands near his home.

Sporting a green striped t-shirt, grey shorts and blue trainers, Jamie cut a casual figure as he made his way to his parked car.

An onlooker said: “He looked like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders, which isn’t surprising given the hot water he is in right now.”

Jamie sent shockwaves behind the scenes at the BBC soap’s Elstree-based set last night when The Sun On Sunday revealed a video has emerged of him on the set of the dance show last year.

In it, he was seen using the term “m********s” to describe the people of Blackpool, the seaside town where the show was being filmed for its annual special.

Jamie, who plays Jay Brown in the soap — made the shameful remark while the Strictly cast were at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom last November.

The footage — which was sent to a pal — shows him backstage during rehearsals alongside co-star Wynne Evans, who was recently sacked by the BBC.

The pair were excited to learn they had been selected for the Strictly tour, which toured the country earlier this year.

Jamie is then seen laughing, before saying: “Blackpool by the way. Absolute m********s.”

The BBC immediately suspended him from the soap while they investigate the matter.

Last night, they said in a statement: “This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this.”

Jamie also issued a statement on his own.

He told The Sun on Sunday: “I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly.

“I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused.

“It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning. That is on me completely.

“Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong.

“When I made the video, I was excited and caught up in the moment. Again, that is no excuse. But my regrettable actions are not a true reflection of my views, or who I am.

“I enjoyed every minute of my time in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the town itself. The people of Blackpool have always been amazing with the Strictly crew, dancers and cast members.

“I know they will be again for this year’s show and those in years to come. I am truly sorry.”

This isn’t the first time Jamie has got in trouble – back in April, he and Wynne were told off by BBC bosses over a video in which they showed off a sex toy.

BBC Race Across The World star’s family pay tribute after death aged 24 in horror car crash

THE family of Race Across The World star Sam Gardiner say they are “overwhelmed” by support following his death as they paid tribute.

The 24-year-old, who competed in the BBC One series alongside his mum Jo, died following a car crash last month.

The BBC programme paid a heartbreaking tribute to Sam on a recent edition[/caption]

A JustGiving page launched in his memory by his family, in aid of National FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), has so far raised more than £10,000.

It comes after Sam’s heartbreaking final social media post was revealed.

Mr Gardiner’s mum said: “We have been overwhelmed by the tens of thousands of messages of love and support on social media and in comments to press reporting.

“We would like to thank the BBC, Studio Lambert and everyone at Race Across The World production, fellow contestants and fans of the show for all their support at this terrible time.

“It has been very comforting to know that Sam touched so many people.

“I have been particularly moved by all the messages that Sam was an inspiration to many who have been impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

“We adopted Sam and he was diagnosed with FASD. As viewers of season two will recall, this was a big challenge both for Sam and for us as his parents.

“National FASD helped us on that journey. If some good comes of this tragedy, it will be that FASD is better understood.”

Mr Gardiner was driving a white Volkswagen Golf R estate when it came off the road and rolled before landing on its side.

The accident happened on the A34 in Gatley, near Cheadle, on May 26 and he died three days later from his injuries, his family said last week.

Broadcast in March 2020, Sam and Jo ventured across Mexico and Argentina as part of the second series of the BBC show.

Mr Gardiner’s dad Andrew said: “When the news broke last week, friends asked how they could help.

“After some thought, I decided to set up a JustGiving page to raise money for National FASD in memory of Sam. The page is called Sam Gardiner; Super Human.

“I set the target at £500 thinking a few friends might be generous enough to make a donation. So far it’s raised 20 times that.

“It’s very humbling to see the RATW family rally to this worthy cause.”

The National Organisation for FASD says on its official website that it “provides support to people with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, their families and communities, campaigns to raise public awareness, and promotes relevant policies and practices”.

The website also describes FASD as resulting “when prenatal alcohol exposure affects the developing brain and body..”

It says: “FASD is a spectrum. Each person with FASD is affected differently.

“While more than 400 conditions can co-occur, FASD is at its core a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition.

“All people with FASD have many strengths. Early diagnosis and appropriate support are essential, especially for executive functioning.”

A message on the official National FASD Instagram account said: “Sam lived his life full of love, exuberance and adventure as seen on BBC’s Race Across the World.

“National FASD is both humbled and honoured to help carry on his legacy via donations coming from hundreds.”

A private funeral will be held later this month.

‘Does he Google excuses?’ – Fans stunned as Neymar sidelined again with shock illness amid nightmare run at Santos

NEYMAR JR has been ruled out for Santos one again as his nightmare run of unavailability continues.

The Brazilian superstar has played just 12 times for Santos since rejoining his boyhood club back in January.

Neymar Jr has been rules out with Covid-19[/caption]

Fitness and injury struggles has meant fans have barely caught a glimpse of the 128-time Brazil international.

And they won’t be able to see him play any time soon either after it was revealed that he has contracted Covid-19 and is unable to play.

A statement from Santos confirmed that the former PSG and Barcelona winger has been isolating since Thursday and is now recovering at home on the advice of a doctor.

Fans can’t quite believe that Neymar is set to be out of action once again, having already missed 10 games this season.

One wrote: “He will do anything but play football“.

While another asked: “Does he Google excuses?”

A third added: “Bro ran out of injuries, he brought back the pandemic“.

And a fourth joked: “Bro really does everything to not play a game at his club”.

Neymar saw his time in Saudi Arabia follow a similar trend, with an ACL injury seeing him miss the majority of his time in the Middle East.

The Samba star manged just SEVEN games in total for Al-Hilal, despite signing a two-year deal worth a reported £129m-per-season.

Injuries and a lack of football have also meant that Neymar hasn’t represented the Brazilian national team since 2023.

But new Selecao boss Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t ruled out a shock call up in the near future, despite leaving the 33-year-old out of his first squad selection.

Speaking to the media, he said: ““In this call-up, I selected the players who are doing well.

“Neymar has just returned from injury, everyone knows his quality and we are counting on him”

Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford in another twist as UFC boss Dana White says he IS promoting super-fight

DANA WHITE has insisted he WILL promote the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight – marking yet another twist.

Canelo is due to defend his undisputed super-middleweight titles against unbeaten American Crawford in September.

@danawhite
Dana White insists he will promote Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford[/caption]

And Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh – the financial backer behind the bout – initially announced that UFC boss White would promote.

The super-fight was set for the Las Vegas Raiders’ NFL stadium with Netflix on board to broadcast that bout.

That was until Alalshikh made a U-turn and claimed Saudi-based Sela would promote and it would instead be on pay-per-view.

White was probed on Alalshikh’s comments after UFC 316 – but hit back to maintain he will be involved in the fight.

He said: “I’m promoting the fight. I’ll let you guys know when it’s time to let you guys know.”

TKO Holdings – who own the UFC and WWE – signed a multi-year partnership to establish a boxing promotion alongside Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh.

As well as a UFC-style boxing league, two super-fights were set to be promoted by TKO and White every year.

And Canelo’s blockbuster against Crawford was due to kickstart the partnership.

Then all of a sudden, Alalshikh told Ring Magazine – which he owns – that the date of the bout was set to change.

And he was also considering having the bout move to New York or Los Angeles – opposed to the £1.5BILLION65,000-seat Raiders Stadium.

It caused huge confusion with the news the fight would also be under the Riyadh Season banner and on PPV – suggesting White and Netflix were out of the picture.

But, White clarified: “Listen, when we’re at work in UFC headquarters, I’m in my own little world, man. I don’t pay attention to any of that s***.

“I know what’s going on, I know what we’re doing, I don’t really pay attention to that stuff.”

White has partnered with Alalshikh before having held two events in Riyadh in the past.

Canelo, 34, beat William Scull, 32, to regain the 168lb undisputed thrown in early May as part of his four-bout deal with Alalshikh.

Meanwhile Crawford, 37, has not fought since moving up to 154lb to win the WBA title against Israil Madrimov, 30, in August 2024.

I help Brits move to Spain -these stunning beach towns with 3-bed homes from £500-a-month are perfect for expats

ONE in five Brits admit to daydreaming about ditching the UK for a new life in sunny Spain.

It’s no surprise when you discover you can escape the Great British gloom for a three-bed in the Med for just £500-a-month.

The 2024 British Expat Report shows even more British families are considering emigrating in the next five years, with 11 per cent ready to leave right now.

According to the data, 532,000 Brits emigrated last year, with 45% craving a better quality of life, 39% blaming the cost-of-living crisis and 37% just sick of our miserable weather.

Millene Adaime works for relocation experts, Movinn, who help people move to Spain and Portugal from overseas.

Over recent years, the demand for expats seeking a new life in Spain has increased, with more families reaching out to them for help.

She told Sun Travel: “Spain used to have the reputation of being somewhere to retire to in your 60s and 70s, but we are getting more requests from modern families or young entrepreneurs who are looking for a different way of life.

“The cost of living here is more affordable, and, of course, we have a fantastic climate.”

With demand growing, areas typically popular with Brits flying south for the sun are becoming crowded and more expensive.

Boozy Benidorm has long been the Brit bolthole of choice, but Millene says the party playground is not necessarily the cheapest spot on the coast.

She said: “Brits tend to favour areas they already know, like Benidorm, and due to the popularity of British movers to the area, the suburbs outside the tourist hub are very nice and very desirable.

“However, the downside is that prices are on the rise and it’s not the cheapest place to move to now.”

Plan ahead

Milene warns families also need to take into account other things that may end up costing more money down the line.

She said: “We identify our clients’ needs and make suggestions that might make life easier once they move in.

“For example, if you have kids and would like them to attend an International school, where they speak primarily in English, moving to an area with a good school that has space available is highly recommended.

“You don’t want to base your family somewhere and land yourself with a terrible commute.

“Some areas are better for families and some are more suited to young professionals.

“Of course, our retired residents tend to favour the south of Spain, due to the year-round warm weather.”

Milene says when her clients ask for advice, she tailors it to suit their needs.

She said: Some people who come to Spain from the UK want a completely different way of life. They want to embrace Spanish culture and go all-in.

“Cádiz in the south is very Spanish. It’s a traditional community where people leave their front door open and it’s very social.

“It’s a place where your friends will just walk into your home, uninvited. A lot of Brits are thrown by this.

“Some people want to move here for the weather and be around other British people.

“That’s fine, but I would recommend a different area to them, where life is a bit closer to home.”

With more people working from home than ever and incentives for business start-ups in countries like Spain, it’s no wonder that so many of us dream of a new life on the beach.

Do you imagine yourself soaking up the sun after work and spending weekends sipping €3 Cava under a palm tree?

If you are considering a Mediterranean move, these are the Spanish spots you should be looking at this year:

Best all-rounderAlicante

The San Juan neighbourhood in Alicante is a great location for British families[/caption]

This is a good choice for Brits wanting to start a new life in Spain.

Alicante is a well-rounded city with beaches, international schools, good healthcare, and excellent public transportation.

It’s a popular choice for British families and has a strong expat community, which will help you settle in and feel more at home.

Look at suburbs like San Juan or El Campello, since they are particularly family-friendly.

Expect to pay:

A three-bed house in El Campello, close to the beach: £1,000-a-month.

Three bed apartments can be found for £750-a-month.

Best for budgetTorrevieja

Torrevieja is a beautiful coastal area, just south of Alicante.

The rustic coastline is less populated and made up of a series of secluded coves and sandy beaches.

It’s less crowded than the more famous tourist areas and cheaper than many other coastal towns, since it’s very small and quaint.

However, expats are catching on and Torrevieja has started to build a significant British population.

It offers a quieter, simpler lifestyle with essential amenities like parks, beaches, and English-speaking services, making it ideal for families looking for lower rental costs.

Expect to pay:
A three-bed apartment with a balcony and a partial sea view: £506-a-month.

A three-bed house with gardens and shared pool: £1,000 per month.

Best for families – Malaga

With claims of over 300 sunny days a year, Málaga is popular with sun-seeking Brits.

Compared to other European cities, it is considered very affordable and has a stretch of beautiful beaches.

Málaga features several international schools, including the British School of Málaga, and Brits can enjoy very convenient flight links to the UK all year round.

Away from the nightlife strip, the coastal suburbs like Pedregalejo and Rincón de la Victoria are excellent for families.

Expect to pay:
A three-bedroom house in Pedregalejo: £1,500-a-month.

A three-bedroom apartment with sea views in Rincón de la Victoria is £1,100 a month

Best for young professionals – Seville

Sevilla has fantastic weather and a rich history[/caption]

A city rich in culture and charm, Seville offers a warm climate and a more relaxed pace of life.

It’s a good option for families seeking a more traditional Spanish experience, but Brits might be put off that there is no beach.

The closest beach is inside the Donana National Park, an hour from Seville.

While there are fewer international schools than in Alicante, but bilingual education options are available if you want the kids to learn Spanish too.

Affordable housing with a bit more space can be found in areas like Mairena del Aljarafe, outside the city centre.

Expect to pay:

A semi-detached home in a serviced complex with a shared pool: £1,338 a month.

A three-bed apartment in Mairena del Aljarafe: £700 euro a month.
