And although the main goal is to raise money for charity, it can often get really competitive.

But what is the prize that some of the world’s biggest names are battling for?

What do the winners of Soccer Aid get?

The winners of Soccer Aid are presented with a medal each and get the chance to lift the famous title.

There is no prize money as the sole purpose of the annual match is to raise money for charity as well as entertain its spectators.

England ended a five-match losing streak last year after thrashing World XI 6-3.

And Soccer Aid 2024 raised a huge £15 million, bringing the total since the charity match was founded in 2006 to over £106million.

When is Soccer Aid 2024?

  • Soccer Aid 2025 takes place TONIGHT – Sunday, June 15
  • The huge annual charity match is scheduled to get underway at 7:30pm BST.

Who is the Soccer Aid top goal scorer?

SOCCER AID is all about entertainment while raising money for charity – but celebrities thrive off hitting the back of the net and they’ll get the chance to do it once again TONIGHT!

Premier League legends Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer have proved that they haven’t lost their touch by bagging their fair share of goals during Soccer Aid matches.

Ex-Tottenham trio Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov have also got on the score sheet on a couple of occasions themselves.

But shockingly, the top scorer in Soccer Aid is NOT a former professional footballer.

Who is the top scorer in Soccer Aid history?

Ex-Love Islander Kem Cetinay is the top goal scorer in Soccer Aid history.

Kem has bagged five goals in four Soccer Aid appearances after breaking the record in 2023.

Kem – who plays for the World XI – got his goal tally underway in 2019 in the 2-2 draw.

He scored again after the game went to penalties, but goals scored in a shootout do not count in the overall tally.

In 2020, Kem again blasted home a penalty in the shootout to hand victory to the World XI again.

In 2021, he scored twice in the 3-1 victory over England, and he added another goal in 2022, while again scoring from the spot during penalties.

In 2023, his 80th minute goal sealed a 4-2 win for the World XI, and took his tally to five.

The social media star’s mum confirmed the footie fan used to sleep in his football boots as a child, which explains his gifted technical ability.

Clarence Seedorf – four goals

Clarence Seedorf holds the record for the second-highest Soccer Aid scorer.

The Dutch footballer has hit the back of the net four times.

However, he is the only star to have bagged a hat-trick.

Seedorf achieved this during the 4-2 win over England in 2014.

He bagged his fourth goal for the World XI in 2018.

Robbie Keane – four goals

Robbie Keane is tied for second in the standings with four strikes.

The Irish player first scored for the World XI in the 3-3 draw in 2018 – along with Seedorf.

He bagged his second in 2020, before getting a brace in 2023.

Here are the current standings ahead of the 2025 match:

  • Kem Cetinay (World XI) – 5
  • Clarence Seedorf (World XI) – 4
  • Robbie Keane (World XI) – 4
  • Teddy Sheringham (England) – 3
  • Jonathan Wilkes (England) – 3
  • Jeremy Lynch (England) – 3
  • Alan Shearer (England) – 2
  • Paolo Di Canio (World XI) – 2
  • Jamie Redknapp (England) – 2
  • Kevin Phillips (England) – 2
  • Dimitar Berbatov (World XI) – 2
