Body found in search for missing Pheobe Bishop as police bodycam video shows her flatmate being arrested for her murder

MISSING teen Pheobe Bishop’s body is believed to have been found near the area where she was last seen.

The heartbreaking discovery comes just hours after her two housemates James Wood and Tanika Bromley were arrested and charged on suspicion of murder.

Her sister Kaylea (R) made a heartbreaking plea on Friday[/caption]

Police said they had been searching for her in an area near to Good Night Scrub National Park, near Gin Gin, in Queensland, Australia.

The search was paused when they found human remains, believed to be Pheobe’s, at 2:30pm on Friday afternoon.

Cops have not yet formally identified the body, but they are now talking to the family of the missing teen who vanished nearly a month ago.

A crime scene has been established where the remains were found, and forensic examinations are ongoing.

Police are still appealing for anyone with relevant information on the case to come forward.

17-year-old Pheobe, from Gin Gin, north of Brisbane, Australia, had not been seen or heard from since Thursday, May 15.

She was supposed to board a flight to see her boyfriend on the same day she went missing, but the teenager never actually checked in.

Shocking footage released on Friday showed the moment one of Pheobe’s alleged killers was arrested – as police told him to “just listen”.

Wood, 34, and Bromley, 33, were arrested on Thursday – before Pheobe’s sister broke down outside court while making an emotional plea.

The Australian teen’s housemates have each been charged with one count of murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse.

Police claimed that Pheobe’s body had been moved “more than once”.

Her corpse is said to have been in the Good Night Scrub National Park at one point before being relocated.

And her remains have now been found in an area which is close to this park.

Dramatic footage released by Queensland Police on Friday showed a dishevelled Wood, without any shoes on, being led out of what is said to be his parents’ RV.

Recorded at 7:20pm on Thursday in the Bundaberg area, the alleged killer is seen following cops without resisting.

But a policeman is later heard telling Wood: “Just listen to me.”

The rest of the clip’s audio is edited out, and it is unclear what provoked the policeman to say this to Wood.

There is also an unidentified figure in the caravan wearing orange shorts, standing behind Wood as he talks to one of the cops.

Wood is wearing a black graphic T-shirt with grey sweatpants as one officer grabs his arm and escorts him out.

After being taken out into the dark, the “Detective Sergeant with Bundaberg Child Protection Investigation Unit” makes the arrest.

The officer says: “I’m placing you under arrest for the homicide of Pheobe Bishop“.

Wood is then seen sitting alone at the back of an unmarked police car.

Both Wood and Bromley appeared at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday morning, and will return to court on August 11.

Outside the building, Pheobe’s heartbroken sister Kaylea Bishop said her sibling was “loved and missed” dearly.

The 18-year-old desperately pleaded for anyone with information on the case to come forward.

Kaylea said: “I don’t know what to say, but if you’ve got any information about Pheobe, or the car or anything like that, just come forward.

“We just want her home.”

Kaylea and Pheobe had a close relationship and were planning to move in together last year.

Also on Friday, Pheobe’s devastated mum Kylie Johnson paid tribute to her daughter Kaylea for bravely speaking out.

Johnson said on Facebook: “Kaylea your strength, determination and dedication to bring Phee Phee home is such a reflection of your fierce love for your sister.”

Cops are now set to allege that Wood, Bromley and Pheobe were all in the car when it arrived at Airport Drive near Bundaberg Airport in the morning of May 15.

Wood previously told the Daily Mail that Pheobe convinced the couple to pull over so she could do her makeup.

They then pulled over, less than a kilometre away from the airport, before Wood and Bromley left her and went for a walk “for five minutes”.

After returning to their silver Hyundai, they claim she had “disappeared”.

But police now believe that the trio never actually left the car.

Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield said: “Our evidence will outline the fact that three people arrived near to the airport, and three people never exited that vehicle.”

Australian teenager Pheobe was supposed to board a flight on May 15 to see her boyfriend – but mysteriously she never checked in.

The trio had an explosive drive to the airport according to Wood, which was the last time anyone had seen her.

A family member said: “Her phone has been switched off from this point.

“She hasn’t contacted anyone at all, no one has seen her.”

The trio had been living in a derelict pad together, which cops have now declared a crime scene.

Her distressed mum, Johnson, made a series of heartbreaking pleas begging anyone with information to come forward.

She also claimed that her daughter’s sudden disappearance was out of character.

Her last known whereabouts were recorded on May 15 at around 8:30am

The teen was supposed to fly to Brisbane and then to Perth to see her “high-school sweetheart” boyfriend but CCTV footage showed that she never entered the airport.

Her social media accounts have also not been active since she went missing.

And her last bank account activity was recorded on May 14, the day before she disappeared.

Bromley had previously been arrested after police allegedly found weapons in her silver Hyundai ix35 – the car which has been at the centre of police focus.

The day before, a new number plate was discovered to have been painted and taped over the Hyundai’s original plate.

Bromley appeared in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court last Monday, after cops alleged they found a shortened firearm, ammunition and two replica handguns inside her grey Hyundai.

She was charged with two counts of authority required to possess explosives, and one count each of possessing and acquiring restricted items and unlawful possession of weapons.

Additional ammunition was also reportedly found at the home.

Shoppers must take action after ‘life-threatening’ issue found in 1.7m air con products sold at stores including Costco

SHOPPERS have been urged to take immediate action as officials issue a recall on over 1.7 million products sold at major retailers.

At least 17 people have fallen ill after defective Midea air conditioning units have caused mold growth, sparking infections and other health issues.

Midea has pulled over 1.7 Million U and U+ Window Air Conditioners due to risk of mold exposure[/caption]

Respiratory infections, at their most severe, can be life-threatening and shoppers must take immediate action if they have a recalled product.

The recall of 1.7 million Midea U and U+ Window Air Conditioners in the US was announced on Thursday.

An additional 45,900 of the faulty products have been sold in Canada.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission shared that all air con units listed in the recall have drainage issues.

“Pooled water in the air conditioners can fail to drain quickly enough, which can lead to mold growth,” the announcement said.

“Mold exposure poses risks of respiratory issues and other infections in some consumers.”

It noted that there have been at least 152 reports of mold growth in the air conditioners with at least 17 people falling ill.

The reported symptoms include respiratory infections, coughing, sneezing, sore throats and allergic reactions as a result of exposure to mold.

The recall is widespread with numerous retailers selling the Midea units both online and in stores under numerous brand names.

These include giants like Costco, Home Depot, Best Buy, Amazon, Lowes, and Walmart.

Brands names which can be found on the units include Comfort Aire, Danby, Mr. Cool, and Perfect Aire.

The affected products were sold in the following cooling power sizes: 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 BTU.

Even if you have not recently bought a Midea air conditioning unit, the product recall could still affect you.

The Product Safety Commission confirmed that affected products were sold between March 2020 and May 2025 for between $280 and $500.

A full list of the recalled items can be found below.

Consumers who find that they have a recalled unit must contact Midea for either a full or prorated refund or a free repair.

Those wanting a refund will be issued free shipping labels to return the product to Midea.

Or shoppers can submit a photograph showing that they have cut the unplugged power cord of the air con unit, the product safety commission said.

Anyone waiting for their appointment with a Midea technician to fix their air con system should follow instructions found here on how to examine the unit before using it.

Mold exposure poses a bigger threat to those with lung conditions such as asthma and lung disease as well as those with compromised immune systems.

The CDC explains that for most, symptoms include a stuffy nose, wheezing, fatigue, and red or itchy eyes, or skin.

Meanwhile, severe reactions include fever or shortness of breath.

People with asthma or who are allergic to mold may have severe reactions,” the CDC states.

“Immune-compromised people and people with chronic lung disease may get infections in their lungs from mold.”

While most respiratory infections will resolve on their own, if one is left untreated, especially in individuals suffering from weakened immune systems, it can lead to severe complications.

If you have any health concerns you must contact your medical provider.

Wilson is in the first week of training with his new team after joining from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 36-year-old veteran has seen it all before in the NFL.

But even he would have been surprised to see tempers flare to such an extent on Thursday.

Brian Burns and left tackle James Hudson were the first to clash on the field, before benches emptied onto the field.

Punches were thrown with some players ending up on the ground, per the NY Post.

Wilson was keen to move on from the brawl when speaking to reporters later in the day.

“I think it’s a competitive part of practice, and we’re all trying to be the best version of us,” the ten-time Pro Bowler said.

“A lot of times you have a long practice, the way we did and the way we were working, things happen.

“Every great team I’ve been on, there’s been a couple of those.

“Our guys are so connected, that sometimes happens. Nothing to worry about.”

Edge rusher Burns blamed stifling heat for tempers boiling over in New Jersey.

The Giants were working in 90-degree temperatures with 50 percent humidity.

“The heat got to us,” Burns admitted.

“It’s a violent sport we play. Guys are trying to get better.

“Tensions raised a little high, heat was getting a little hotter, so guys are a little more agitated.

“But it isn’t that deep. We squashed it.”

Emotional moment Jersey Shore’s Snooki discovers why she was put up for adoption and speaks to birth mom for first time

JERSEY Shore’s Snooki discovered why she was put up for adoption as she spoke to her birth mom for the first time, in an emotional moment.

The 37-year-old was taking part in an episode of the MTV reunion series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

And she spoke to her birth mom for the first time, after being adopted at six months old from Chile, by an Italian-American family.

The star asked the question: “Why was I put up for adoption?” while speaking to her mum using a translator via computer chat.

The translator told Snooki that her reply was: “When she realized she was pregnant, she told her partner, your father, and he just disappeared, leaving her by herself.

“She didn’t have any support at that moment so that was the only option that she had. Even [though] it was painful, she had to let you go.”

In a piece to camera, Snooki explained: “For 36 years, I’ve been thinking about this question, and now the answer is going to pop up any second. This is insane.”

The star was asked by her birth mom whether she was “angry” with her over being put up for adoption.

Snooki advised that they should probably talk over the phone.

She then spoke to her birth mom on the phone, greeting her by saying “hola,” much to the amusement of JWoww, who had joined Snooki for emotional support.

JWoww told Snooki: “‘Hola!’ You sound like Dora the Explorer.”

Snooki’s birth mom became tearful on the phone, and told her how hard it had been to put her up for adoption.

She went on to say that she’d “never forgotten her.”

Snooki was reassuring and let her mum into the life she’d had, since being adopted.

She told how she’d been raised by “loving parents” who “spoiled” her, and explained that she had three kids –  Lorenzo, 11, Giovanna, 10, and Angelo, six – with her husband Jionni LaValle.

The translator told Snooki: “She’s happy to know that you are a family now, and she’s very happy knowing that you were okay. She’s really happy she talked to you, and she loves you.”

Snooki was left unsure as to whether she’d go and meet her birth mom in person, adding to JWoww that she’s “still a stranger,” to her.

Snooki has carved a very successful career for herself, and boasts 17million Instagram followers.

Snooki’s appearance on Jersey Shore, led to her being snapped up by talk shows and numerous other reality programs.

In 2013, she competed on Dancing With The Stars, where she was partnered with Sasha Farber.

The couple finished in eighth place.

She went on to compete in The Apprentice in 2017, and Masterchef in 2019.

The star was born in Santiago, Chile, on November 23, 1987.

She received her unusual nickname in middle school, when her friends named her after “Snooki”, a male character in Save The Last Dance, because she was the first of her friends to kiss a boy.

The Jersey Shore star has revealed details about her childhood in a YouTube vlog before.

Snooki said: “I don’t really talk about it just because I just feel like my family is my family.”

She added: “I never really thought, ‘What’s my birth mother like? What’s my birth family like?’ Because I’m so content with my adoptive parents and my adopted life and family.

“But you know I thought about it once I started getting older, like, ‘What does my mom look like? What does my dad look like?’”

She added: “I was adopted at 6 months from Santiago, Chile and I was adopted by Helen and Andrew Polizzi.

“They flew all the way to Chile to come pick me up and they said right when they saw me they said I was like, ‘Mama, Dada.’

“So it was meant to be, things just work out that way — it’s called fate.”
