Ex-Dallas Cowboys star Rico Dowdle fires warning to former team after huge day – ‘they got to buckle up’

RICO DOWDLE has fired a warning shot at his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

On October 12, the Cowboys travel to Carolina to face the Panthers.

He has told them they need to ‘buckle up’[/caption]

There they will see a familiar face in running back Dowdle.

Dowdle, 27, was picked up by the Cowboys in 2020 after going undrafted.

But he remained on the books for the next five seasons before becoming the first undrafted free agent to rush for 1,000 yards in a season in team history.

In 2025, Dowdle signed a one-year, $6.25million contract with the Panthers.

And he has warned his old team to “buckle up” as they prepare for their Gameweek 6 journey to Charlotte, North Carolina.

He said: “They’ve got to buckle up.

“I think they know for sure.

“They didn’t keep me there for five years for no reason.”

Dowdle did want to remain in Dallas, but the two parties could not come to a financial agreement.

His new deal with the Panthers starts out at $2.75m with incentives potentially taking it up to around $6m.

The South Carolina native had started the season as a role player.

But an injury to backup Chuba Hubbard saw Dowdle called up for the 27-24 win over the Miami Dolphins.

A stunning showing saw him tying with Jonathan Stewart (2009) for the second-most yards in a game in team history.

But Dowdle was left stricken on the field with calf cramps, which left him drinking pickle juice just to get back on the field.

Angel Reese demands ‘justice for Kyren Lacy’ after new footage of car accident he was accused of causing

WNBA star Angel Reese has demanded “justice” for fellow LSU alumnus Kyren Lacy.

The former Tigers football star died aged 24 in a suspected suicide in April.

Lacy was found dead in his car in Houston, Texas, hours before he was due to appear in front of a grand jury.

The NFL hopeful died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He had been accused of causing a car crash which killed a 78-year-old man.

Lacy was also accused of fleeing the scene with charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle.

New video emerged last week appearing to “prove Lacy’s innocence.”

His attorney Matthew Ory claims the footage shows Lacy “72.6 yards behind the vehicles” at the time of impact.

“Key word – behind the vehicles,” Ory told HTV 10.

“That is not how this story was painted. Never.”

Reese, who played for LSU between 2022 and 2024, took to social media to show her support.

“Justice for Kyren Lacy,” wrote Reese on X, adding a heartbroken emoji.

Lacy played as a wide receiver for the Tigers for three seasons after transferring from Louisiana.

During his college career, Lacy caught 162 passes for 2,360 yards and reeled in 26 touchdowns across 64 games.

The 24-year-old was honored at a moving funeral service in April.

His girlfriend Cydney Theard paid tribute to the “most loving man I’ve ever known.”

Bill Belichick trolled by UNC student after another terrible college football loss – ‘one of the saddest feelings’

NFL legend Bill Belichick was trolled by a University of North Carolina student as his struggles at college football continued.

Belichick, 73, is one of the greatest coaches in the history of the sport having won a staggering six Super Bowls.

However, the New England Patriots icon has been unable to replicate his glittering NFL career in college football ever since taking over at UNC in December.

Belichick has suffered a disappointing 2-3 record in charge of the North Carolina Tar Heels and pressure piled on after Saturday’s 10-38 thrashing to the Clemson Tigers at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

That led to immense dissatisfaction and doubt from UNC fans regarding the Patriots great.

So much so that one supporter went viral with an interview where she pulled no punches.

Student Anna Yi told ESPN when remembering last month’s loss to the TCU Horned Frogs where Belichick made his debut: “TCU was… I went to that game…

“And that was, that was one of the saddest feelings I’ve had in University so far.

“I’ve failed midterms before, so that’s saying something…”

Other fans then immediately took to social media to echo Yi’s statements.

Some of them even suggested that Belichick can’t perform without star players like Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

One fan tweeted: “Belichick should have retired when Tom Brady left town. He is tarnishing his legacy.

“His stint at UNC will go down as a disastrous ending to a Hall of Fame career. He brought it all on to himself.

Another commented: “North Carolina is Belichick without Brady and Gronk.”

A third wrote: “#Clemson has played much, much better. Love the motion, the movement. And UNC is a mess.”

This fan said: “Bill Belichick’s greatest mistake was not riding into the sunset and retiring when Tom Brady left in 2020.”

That one posted: “Remember that one year Bill Belichick coached in college?

“This is something we will all say years from now in amazement.”

Finally this fan said: “The Bill Belichick UNC era is becoming college football’s Fyre Fest.”

North Carolina are back in action with another tough match next week.

UNC will visit the California Golden Bears at the California Memorial Stadium.

Kansas City Chiefs wish Travis Kelce happy birthday with touching throwback picture montage – ’36 years of greatness’

THE Kansas City Chiefs wished Travis Kelce a happy birthday with a touching throwback montage on Instagram.

The Chiefs captioned the post, “36 years of @killatrav,” with a red heart.

Kelce is going into his 13th season with the Chiefs, having been drafted back in 2013[/caption]

But Kelce revealed he is not excited about this milestone, claiming, “I’m just not in on birthdays.”

He is now in his 13th year of his NFL career, just two shy of the record.

Punters Dustin Colquitt and Jerrel Wilson both played 15 seasons in Kansas City.

The tight end already holds many career receiving records for the team.

He has the most pass receptions (1019) for the Chiefs, the most receiving touchdowns (78) and the most receiving yards (12,333).

Kelce has been a staple in Kansas City since he was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Newly appointed head coach Andy Reid believed Kelce, coming out of the University of Cincinnati, to be a first-round talent.

But he had reservations due to Kelce’s suspension in college after he tested positive for marijuana.

Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, who Reid had coached at the Philadelphia Eagles, convinced Reid to draft him, and the rest is history.

The 36-year-old has gone on to win three Super Bowls with Reid and the Chiefs.

He has also been selected ten times in the Pro Bowl and is a four-time first-team All-Pro.

Plus, Kelce was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

Kelce has always had more than just football in his life, however, and that has only spiralled now that he is engaged to Taylor Swift.

In January 2016, Kelce starred in the E! Entertainment Television dating show Catching Kelce, a dating show where women competed to date him.

In 2023, Kelce hosted Saturday Night Live, and a year later, it was announced he would host a reboot of the game show ‘Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?’

And most recently, he played a waiter in Happy Gilmore 2.

Alongside all of this, he has co-hosted his own podcast with his brother, New Heights, since September 2022.

The name is a nod to the brothers’ upbringing in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and together they discuss NFL news, rumors, and headlines.

Kelce’s fame has only risen since starting to date Swift, and the pair have been frequently described in the media as a “supercouple.”

In August, Swift and Kelce revealed that they were engaged.
