SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A child abuse charge was dropped and the owner of a former Sioux Falls day care walked out of court with a $100 fine.
Ametria Christion, the owner the now-closed Wildflower Academy, appeared in court Monday.
In a plea deal, Christion pleaded guilty to contributing to the abuse, neglect and delinquency of a minor which is a misdemeanor.
She was originally charged with child abuse for an incident that happened in August of 2024.
Judge Sandra Hoglund Hanson announced the sentencing after the change of plea on Monday.
