The suspect is accused of speeding toward the main entrance gate and ramming his sedan into it at around 2:40 am, police said.

“We look at this as an act of terror against the FBI,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Giordano said during a press briefing.

“This was a targeted attack on this building. Thankfully, no one was hurt.”

After a manhunt lasting nearly seven hours, Henson was taken into custody, CBS affiliate KDKA reported.

The FBI said there was “some vulgarity” scrawled on the side of the car, which is registered to Henson.

It wasn’t immediately clear what the writing said, but Giordano said there appeared to be a reference to suicide.

After the crash, Henson allegedly got out of the car, took an American flag out of the trunk, and hung it on the gate, the FBI said.

Video of the suspect taken by a person who works nearby showed Henson speedwalking away from the FBI field office and carrying what appears to be a jacket.

Officials compared surveillance footage with Henson’s driver’s license picture to identify him, Giordano.

Henson is a former military member who lives in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, about a 20 minute drive from Pittsburgh, police said.

Giordano said Henson might have been experiencing a mental health crisis when he allegedly drove into the gate.

The suspect reportedly visited the field office in the weeks before the incident.

Giordano said Henson made a “complaint that didn’t make a whole lot of sense.”

Officials investigated the issue he reported, but determined they couldn’t do anything about it.

“We contacted him to let him know there wasn’t a federal offense that we were able to charge,” Giordano said.

‘HE JUST TOOK OFF’

Witness Cierra Posey, who works nearby, told ABC affiliate WTAE that the driver was incoherent when he walked away from the scene.

Another worker, Idez Columbie, told the outlet, “He just walked away like nothing happened.”

Witness Nakeisha Brown said she was “blown away” by the scary scene after she first heard tires screeching.

“He got out and went around the passenger side and pulled something out of the passenger side,” Brown told WTAE.

“I thought it was a gun but it happened to be a flag and he just set it on that fence and started yelling out some words and just took off.”
