Paul, 40, played with the San Antonio Spurs in the 2024-25 campaign.

And it sounds like Paul is ready for a farewell tour once he plays in his 21st season in the NBA, after recent comments during an interview with Jemele Hill.

The former ESPN host Hill asked Paul, “How much longer do you intend to play?”

“At the most a year,” Paul answered Hill at the American Black Film Festival in Miami.

“You know I just finished my 20th season, which is a blessing in itself.”

The 12-time All-Star explained that his family is a major part of his process in deciding when leaving the game makes sense.

“The more years that go by, it’s more conversations with my family, with my kids,” Paul said.

“They have a lot of say so.

“They got a lot of input.”

Paul is a free agent after playing all 82 games for the Spurs last season.

He averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 assists per game.

Paul was linked to the former team Los Angeles Clippers, but it was recently reported that he wants to be a starter.

He is considered to be one of the best players in NBA history who doesn’t have a championship ring.

Paul has played for seven teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Phoenix Suns.

The point guard has appeared in the NBA Finals just once.

That time occurred when his Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games in the 2021 Finals.

Paul is the only player from the 2005 draft class still actively playing in the NBA.

He and LeBron James are the only players to accumulate 20,000-plus points and 10,000-plus assists in their careers.
