THE Cleveland Browns’ quarterback room is going to shrink before the season starts.
With four quarterbacks currently on the roster, the Browns are expected to move on from one of them.

Entering training camp, the Browns roster Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders.
All four of those quarterbacks are new faces in the building this season.
Pickett came in via a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles in return for a fifth-round pick and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Flacco was re-signed by the Browns this offseason after spending 2024 with the Indianapolis Colts.
Flacco started six games for the Browns in 2023.
Gabriel and Sanders both came in via the 2025 NFL Draft, with the Browns using the 94th and 144th picks on them.
The quarterback room is as full as it can get, and all four quarterbacks are in contention for a starting spot.
However, ESPN reports indicate that one of the four will not be on the roster by the time the Browns kick off their season against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 7.
Among the quarterbacks, Pickett is the least likely to be traded or released.
Despite an early training camp injury, he is the current favorite to be the Week 1 starter for Cleveland.
He was the player they put the most effort into acquiring and reportedly looked to be in good form before his hamstring injury.
The 40-year-old Flacco is also a contender for the starting spot, especially due to his experience in the Browns offense.
That leaves Gabriel and Sanders at the bottom of the pecking order.
It appears most likely that either Gabriel or Sanders will find themselves off the Browns roster by the time the season starts.
Currently, Sanders looks to be in the worst position.

Dillon Gabriel was picked two rounds ahead of Sanders, which could keep him safe[/caption]
He is the only Browns quarterback not to receive first-team reps so far in camp.
“I’m not even going to think about that or have that even in my thought process of why it is,” Sanders said at camp.
“It doesn’t make me feel down or it doesn’t make me feel left out or anything because I know who I am as a person.
“I know who I am as an individual, and I know what I could bring to this team.”
It isn’t clear yet if the Browns will attempt to trade or release whichever quarterback doesn’t make the roster.
