Cleveland Browns star leaks starting quarterback for 2025 season – and it’s not good news for Shedeur Sanders

A CLEVELAND Browns wide receiver leaked the team’s potential starting quarterback for the upcoming season.

The latest update on the Browns’ crowded room isn’t good news for 2025 fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders.

Cleveland has four quarterbacks vying for a starting role this summer.

It seems that veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco have an edge on rookie Dillon Gabriel and Sanders based on experience.

Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson believes that Pickett is the favorite to win the job.

“I think they are going to roll with Kenny (Pickett) for right now,” Johnson said.

Pickett made 24 starts in his first two seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last year, the 27-year-old was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and started in just one game.

Johnson, who signed with the Browns as a free agent this offseason, has noticed that Pickett has been playing with the team’s starters during practice.

“I’ve been seeing Kenny going like right now with the ones,” the 28-year-old Johnson said.

“I think they are probably going to roll with him just to see like he’s coming off a season with Philly and having a Super Bowl.

“So, I think they are going to stick with him through the preseason.

“Then, you know they can live with Joe and what he brings to the table.”

Johnson’s leak could spell trouble for Sanders.

It’s unlikely that both of the veteran quarterbacks will be on the Browns’ 53-man roster.

Then, the Browns will have to decide whether to keep both Sanders and Gabriel, or release one of them.

Sanders is currently No. 4 on Cleveland’s depth chart.

While Sanders has reportedly been impressive during the team’s practices, he has gotten into trouble with the law recently.

This month, Sanders has been cited twice for speeding in his car.

A Browns spokesperson told Cleveland.com that Sanders was “taking care of the tickets” and that the team has spoken about the citations with him.
