Today, June 18, is National Iced Coffee Day, a faux holiday celebrated by many food chains across the country – especially Dunkin’.

The coffee giant honors the holiday with its own special day, dubbed Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day.

Dunkin’ heavily promotes and supports National Iced Coffee Day each year through its fundraising efforts.

Today only, the chain will donate $1 from every iced coffee or cold brew sold to the Joy in Childhood Foundation, Dunkin’s nonprofit aimed at helping children battling hunger or illness.

“That means every sip makes a difference to support local communities – from funding facility dogs and magical prom nights at children’s hospitals to helping food banks deliver meals to kids who need it most,” Dunkin’ shared in a news release.

The beloved chain is also extending the impact “beyond your coffee run.”

Beginning today, all proceeds from sales on ShopDunkin.com will benefit Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation, while supplies last.

That’s right – shopping equals giving back,” said the chain.

To celebrate the spirit of giving, Dunkin’ is offering fans another chance to get their hands on some of its most popular merch that previously sold out.

For example, the chain is bringing back its first-ever wedding collection, the donut swimming pool, espresso shakers, DunKings tracksuits, and more.

“These pieces flew off the shelves the first time – now they’re back, with every purchase helping to bring joy to kids battling hunger or illness,” said Dunkin’.

CARING CUPS

Dunkin’s Iced Coffee Day is now in its fourth year and provides a heartwarming opportunity to give back with every cup and purchase.

Last year, the event raised $2.1 million, helping to provide crucial support to local nonprofits and children’s hospitals in the US.

One of the hospitals that the annual event has benefitted is Connecticut Children’s.

Java Generosity

Founded in 2006, the Joy in Childhood Foundation is an independent nonprofit operated by Dunkin’.

The organization provides grants to hundreds of nonprofits of all sizes, helping children battling hunger or illness across the US.

Nonprofits that the Joy in Childhood Foundation have helped include food pantries as well as children’s hospitals, camps, and programs.

Raised funds in past years have gone towards enhancing playrooms and other child-friendly spaces in the hospital, a spokesperson for the hospital told local ABC affiliate WTNH.

“Connecticut Children’s is incredibly grateful for our longstanding and meaningful partnership with Dunkin’,” the hospital told the outlet.

“Through the generosity of Iced Coffee Day funding and ongoing support from the Joy in Childhood Foundation and local franchisees, Dunkin’ continues to make a lasting impact on our patients and their families.”

The chain’s contributions over the years have totaled “well into the hundreds of thousands,” said the hospital.
