THE Georgia Football Classic has abruptly been cancelled.
The matchup between two HBCU schools is unexpectedly being moved away from Mercedes-Benz Stadium this weekend.

Less than a week before it was set to be played, the matchup between Florida A&M University and Mississippi Valley State University was postponed.
In a statement released by the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc. on Tuesday, they shared their “profound disappointment regarding the postponement and relocation of this year’s HBCU event.”
The game was set to be played on October 4 at the home of the Atlanta Falcons..
It will now be played at a different location on a different date.
Florida A&M released a statement on its athletics website, saying the move came about “due to unforeseen circumstances and issues beyond our control with the organizers.”
“As we value the opportunity to provide a quality experience, every effort was made to make this event occur,” the statement read.
“We regret that no viable option was available on short notice.
“As Mississippi Valley State is the designated home team, the decision has been made to postpone the game and play at Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena, Mississippi on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2 p.m.
“We regret the impact that this unexpected change will have on our fans, and we will make every effort to provide a quality game-day experience during the rescheduled date of competition.
“While this outcome is disappointing for our fans and community, our focus remains on upholding the standards and integrity of our athletics programs.”
Florida A&M is off to a rough start to their season, currently owning a 1-3 record.
Their sole win came against Albany State.
Mississippi Valley State is off to an even worse start, falling to 0-4 this season.
Fans have multiple options available for their tickets, according to MVSU.

First, tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be honored for a refund if requested.
Mercedes-Benz stadium announced that fans will get a full refund within two to three weeks.
However, fans can still go to the game if they want to.
All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled game.
