College football star is ejected from game for spitting at rival just days after Jalen Carter incident in Eagles-Cowboys

THERE was another spitting incident in football just days after Jalen Carter’s controversy.

Jalen Carter was ejected from the Philadelphia Eagles‘ opening game for spitting, and now a college football star has suffered the same fate.

The Florida Gators were upset by rivals South Florida in one of the most shocking results of the year.

However, the upset should never have happened.

Late in the fourth quarter, Florida held a 16-15 lead over USF and were in position to lock down the game.

It was at that point that Gators star defender Brendan Bett could be seen getting into it with South Florida player Cole Skinner.

Before he could be pulled away, Bett spit in the face of Skinner.

That action got him ejected from the game and got a flag thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The 15-yard penalty moved USF to their own 39-yard line and gave them an automatic first down.

On the very next play, running back Isaac Alvin ripped off a 29-yard run that put USF in field goal range.

USF went on to win the game 18-16 on a game-winning field goal.

The Gators fell to 1-1 on the season with the loss and elevated USF to 2-0 with two ranked wins.

Bett’s actions were reminiscent of the opening game of the NFL season.

Before a single snap was played, Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter spit on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Like Bett, Carter was immediately ejected from the game and the Eagles were given a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Football fans thought both Carter and Bett’s actions were inexcusable, and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Clearly this kid doesn’t watch the NFL,” one fan said.

“What’s with these SEC players spitting on people,” another fan said.

“Dude didn’t watch the Cowboys/Eagles game,” a third fan said.

“Disgusting on multiple levels,” a fourth fan said.

“Jalen Carter started a movement,” a fifth fan said.

It is yet to be seen if either Carter or Bett face additional punishment for spitting.
