Controversial national anthem slammed as ‘disgrace’ after rendition at MLB game – ‘what is this?’

MLB fans were left baffled on Thursday after the strangest national anthem performance.

Electronic musician Dan Deacon performed the Star Spangled Banner ahead of a matchup between the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles crowd at Camden Yards was smaller thanks to an early start double header.

Still, those fans stood and listened to a rendition of the national anthem that they likely weren’t expecting.

Deacon used auto-tune to create a unique sounding anthem, but one that drew the ire of many fans watching.

“I think the Orioles have officially hit rock bottom,” one fan said.

“You can literally see people thinking ‘what the f*** is this,’” another fan said.

“Is this considered a disgrace to the National Anthem??” a third fan said.

“This is easily the worst rendition ever performed of this song,” a fourth fan said.

“Wow this is weird,” a fifth fan said.

Fans could be seen in the stands with confused looks on their faces while Deacon performed his rendition.

Deacon posted his rendition on his Instagram account with the caption “Go Os.”

The strange rendition of the national anthem didn’t sway the Orioles players, as they came out strong on Thursday.

New York came to town for a double header, and the O’s dispatched them without much issues.

In the first game, the Orioles pulled off a late-game comeback to win 3-1.

Following the comeback, they controlled the second game from the start.
