COSTCO has implemented a new policy for its free samples, and it means some will no longer to try the freebies.
The new policy will target a specific group of customers and stop them from taking advantage of one of Costco‘s most beloved perks.

Costco has implemented a rule that means children will not be able to try a free sample without an adult present.
The warehouse retailer has done this so that a young person doesn’t accidentally ingest something they could be allergic to.
If a child requests a free sample without the presence of their parent, say, if they are further down the aisle, the child will be told to return with them first.
This will also impact parents, who might have to rethink sending their child over for a free sample.
Normally, you can get away with taking more of one of the free samples without pushback from a Costco employee.
But if you were to send your child over on your behalf, this would not work.
The US Sun has contacted Costco for comment on this policy, but did not hear back right away.
SECRET CODE REVEALED
Another Costco secret has now been revealed to customers, and it concerns the stickers slapped onto price tags.
It was revealed by employees that this is done as an inventory check, employees know how much of everything they have.
On the social media platform Reddit, one curious customer asked a question that has left customers confused.
They asked: “What does the yellow sticker mean on a price tag?”
In the comments, a Costco customer said that the stickers are there for a very important reason.
They replied: “It’s inventory time, half the stores just completed a round and the other half will do so in a couple of weeks.
Costco membership sharing guidelines
Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they’ve been cracking down on offenders in recent years.
- Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
- Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
- Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

“This is a weighed item, which is counted by the pound.
“They used a sticker to signify to the counter to weigh it versus taking a count of units.”
It turns out, according to some workers, that this can take a long time, and some go out of their way to avoid it.
One employee noted: “I feel so blessed that I get to miss inventory this year.”
Someone else noted: “They took me off inventory indefinitely after I called in sick the first time and when I forgot about a wedding I had to attend the second time.
“Hey I ain’t complaining.”
And another said: “I missed the August inventory last year for a wedding.
“I’m missing it this year for a wedding, and depending on its date next year.
“I will miss it for my own wedding. I think they might stop believing me.”
