COSTCO members have noticed signs that a discontinued aisle might be making a return.
After a shopper spotted a massive media table at their local warehouse, fans are hopeful that the store may once again start selling books.

A customer shared a post on the Reddit thread r/Costco, asking: “Are books making a comeback?” along with a picture showing a new media table stacked with books.
The user wrote: “I’ve been lamenting Costco‘s gradual removal of books, but to my surprise we got a new table of them this week!
“Not as big as it once was, but it’s better than nothing.”
The post quickly gained traction, garnering over 2,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
Many shoppers expressed hope that the major retailer would bring back books, with one user commenting that it used to be their “favorite part of going to Costco”.
Some members, however, said their local warehouses have continued to stock books.
A highly-liked comment stated: “In my local warehouse, the books never went away.”
Another user chimed in, saying: “Mine has always got them year-round. Its about twice the size of this table. One side for children’s book and the opposite side for adults, then they tend to have a cardboard display box at the end of the table as well.”
This comes after The US Sun has previously reported on shoppers’ complaints following the book aisle’s disappearance.
Economic pressures on big retailers like Costco and the rise of e-books likely contributed to the decision.
Some fans, however, speculated that Costco’s book tables might not be gone for good – but instead could be transitioning into a seasonal offering.
Meanwhile, Costco has recently rolled out a number of changes.
The retailer implemented a major food court shake-up, replacing Pepsi with Coca-Cola for the first time in 12 years.
The shift has been popular with shoppers, and by fall, all Costco food courts will serve Coca-Cola.
CEO Ron Vachris confirmed the change in January, stating, “This summer we will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola.”
While the switch from Pepsi to Coke sparked controversy at first, many shoppers are now reacting positively on social media.
Reports from Reddit confirm Coca-Cola machines are already in use at Costco food courts in locations such as Lakewood, California, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Springfield, Virginia.
There are said to be further rollouts in states like Idaho, Illinois, Tennessee, Minnesota and Florida.
