
A POPULAR beach product has landed on Costco’s urgent recall list after reports of serious injuries.
Shoppers are being told to stop using it right away, with warnings of crushed fingers and even amputations.

Over 1.1 million Igloo 90 Qt Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers recalled over a tow handle[/caption]
Costco says the Igloo 90 Qt Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler poses a risk of “fingertip amputation and crushing hazards” due to a dangerous flaw in the tow handle.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall on February 13, 2025, with about 1,060,000 units affected in the US alone.
“The firm has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations,” CPSC reported.
An additional 47,000 units were sold in Canada and 23,000 in Mexico, bringing the total recall to more than 1.1 million coolers.
Recalled coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s, and other stores nationwide.
It was also sold online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com, and other websites.
The affected coolers were sold between January 2019 through January 2025 and cost between $80 and $140.
The warning applies to units sold nationwide at Costco stores and through other retailers.
The company says the recall applies to coolers manufactured before 2024, with a date code of 2023 or earlier printed on the bottom.
In a letter sent to Costco members, Igloo urged customers to immediately stop using the cooler and visit its website to check eligibility
“If you are currently in possession of an Igloo 90 Qt Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler, please immediately stop using the cooler,” the company stated.
Customers can register for a tow handle replacement kit, shipped free of charge, through Igloo’s recall site.
Costco has also flagged the product in its Product Recalls section and is urging quick action.

Any cooler labeled:
- Latitude 90 Roller
- MaxCold Latitude 90 Roller
- EcoCool Latitude 90 Roller
- MaxCold 90 Quart Eco Roller
- Sportsman 90 Latitude Roller
Date codes:
Look at the bottom of your cooler.
If it was made between September 2018 and December 2023, it may be recalled.
Some of the items were sold through Costco Next, a program allowing members to buy directly from partner brands at discounted prices.
Others were purchased in-store or online from regular stores Costco channels.
In multiple cases, consumers are being urged to stop using the products immediately.
An Anker Power Bank (Model A1257) was pulled due to possible battery issues.
While the risk of malfunction is low, Anker still warned customers to “stop using the device immediately.”
The Danby 8k U-shaped Window Air Conditioner is also under recall.
Officials say water buildup in the unit can lead to mold.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the problem affects units sold under several brands, including Midea, Frigidaire, Insignia, Mr. Cool, and more.
Another mold warning applies to Midea U-Shape Window ACs, with certain item numbers sold at Costco.
Health experts say mold exposure from these units could trigger respiratory infections and other issues.
