But despite the varied list, shoppers don’t seem to be entirely happy with the new food court addition.
On the social media platform Reddit, one customer called out Costco for how the new salad tastes.
They wrote: “…Very meh, both in terms of taste and value. Got it cuz my kid actually asked for it to accompany the pizza, but he only had one bite of the salad, which I ended up eating.”
Others on the thread said that the salad was overpriced for what they got.
The US Sun has reached out to Costco for comment on the complaint, but did not hear back before publishing.
PIZZA PROBLEMS
Costco’s food court is constantly changing its menu, sometimes leaving customers distraught.
This can be for a number of reasons, like if the food isn’t selling as well as the company wanted it to.
It could also happen because of external events, which is the case with the Combo Pizza.
The fan favorite food was dropped form the menu at the height of the pandemic.
At the time, many retailers experienced food shortages as a result of the coronavirus.
Costco has drawn similarly mixed reactions over its decision to swap out Pepsi for Coca-Cola after 13 years.
ORDER UP
There are even times when entire food court policies are slammed by customers.
In July, Costco shoppers were confused after food courts stopped calling out order numbers.
This led to chaos across the country, as well as longer wait times.
A Little History

Here’s what Aurielle Weiss, Assistant Consumer Editor with The U.S. Sun, has to say…
Costco has been selling rotisserie chickens since around 2000.
Starting in 2009, the warehouse retailer started selling them for $4.99, despite rising inflation.
In fact, Costco cut its costs by opening a poultry processing plant in Nebraska in 2019 to raise its chickens.
According to experts David and Susan Schwartz, the company only allows the chickens to sit on display for two hours.
After two hours, employees remove the chickens from shelves and use them in other dishes like soups and salads.
The experts also claim to grab the chickens once you hear the ring of a bell.
The bell lets employees know that a fresh batch of chickens is ready to be sold.
While the $5 item remains a staple for many, the company’s decision to change its packaging bothered some members.
The chickens used to come in a clear plastic encasing with a black plastic bottom.
They now come in bags with a zipper and contain 75% less plastic.
It was confirmed by one customer that employees were waiting to see customers with a receipt first before preparing their food.
Another person clarified that at their Costco, this was being done because orders were being stolen.
The warehouse retailer has drawn criticism for its policy that forces members to prove their identity before entering the store.
CRAZY FOR THE CALZONE
But there are times when a new food court item is praised by the vast majority of customers.
A recent example of this going right for the company is the addition of the Combo Calzone for $6.99.
The calzone comes filled with pepperoni, sausage, cheese, tomato sauce, onions, peppers, olives, and mushrooms.
Shoppers raced to call the new item “delicious” on social media.
The Combo Calzone is now available at the chains 600 plus warehouses in the US.
