Felipe, half of Brazilian country duo Felipe & Raphael, died on Monday after he fell off the back of a pickup truck on Saturday.
The young musician’s career was just starting to take off after he formed the duo with his childhood friend, Raphael Sousa, last year.
Felipe, full name Felipe Silva, shared a now heartbreaking post thanking his fans for their support on June 29.
“Each chord is a step in that dream that pulses stronger every day,” Felipe wrote in Portuguese on Instagram.
“It may be just the beginning, but the will to live from music is already huge. Thank you to everyone who believes in me!”
Tragedy struck nearly two weeks after the post.
Felipe was in the back of a pickup truck in Araguaína, a city in the Brazilian state of Tocantins, when the car suddenly started, his manager said.
The truck’s jolt forced Felipe to lose his balance, and he fell off the truck and hit his head on the ground.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for brain swelling.
Two days later, he died of his injuries.

The official Instagram page for Felipe & Raphael, which has over 3,000 followers, announced the tragic news of his death on Monday.
“Today, with broken hearts, we share that our beloved Felipe is no longer with us. He’s gone… gone too soon…,” the post said in Portuguese.
“Now he’s with the Creator, in the heaven he so often looked to with hope, with his light soul and his voice eternally alive.”
Similarly to Felipe’s last post, the band’s statement shared that the duo had a bright future ahead before the tragic accident.
Felipe & Raphael’s full statement
The official Instagram page of country music duo Felipe & Raphael shared the following statement in Portuguese after news of Felipe’s death at 24:
Today didn’t dawn as we expected…
It was to be another chapter of a beautiful project, full of dreams, courage and music. A project of the duo Felipe & Raphael, that was born from the heart and true friendship, watered with talent, faith and a lot of will to win.
But today, with broken hearts, we share that our dear Felipe is no longer with us. And he’s gone…. gone way too soon…
Now he is next to the Creator, in the heaven he hoped for, with his light soul and his voice eternally alive.
Felipe was more than an artist, he was light, he was joy, he was courage, he was perseverance. Wherever he went, he left smiles, he left seeds.
God has a purpose for everyone, and the purpose this time was to call him back.
His dream was always to sing for the world… And now he will be singing in heaven with the angels.
But here, we’ll keep representing, with the same strength and love that he carried into every note, every rehearsal, every song.
Rest in peace Felipe We will love you forever.

‘DIFFICULT TO PUT INTO WORDS’
Social media posts appear to suggest that the country band will continue to make music together in the wake of Felipe’s death.
On Wednesday, Raphael shared throwback pictures and videos of Felipe on his Instagram account to remember his bandmate.
The band’s manager, Diego Roni, also shared a statement honoring the late singer on social media.
“Felipe is no longer with us physically, and this pain is difficult to put into words,’” Roni wrote.
“But what remains, forever, is what he left on our stages, backstage, in rehearsals, in conversations, and in our dreams.”
