LEGENDARY NFL commentator Cris Collinsworth has weighed in on Micah Parsons’ contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys.
Parsons, 26, has been at the centre of a stand-off with the Cowboys.

Despite this, commentator Collinsworth believes that he will suit up for the Cowboys this season.
Fears are mounting that Parsons will sit out of the Cowboys’ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, September 4.
He has compared the contract saga with that of Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones and Emmitt Smith in 1993.
Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show, Collinsworth said, “Of course. Of course [Parsons will stay with the Cowboys].
He continued, “Are you watching the Netflix thing on the Cowboys? Are you seeing any of that? Of course, the Smith thing.
“He held out for the first two games. They lose the first two games. Jerry’s been down that road. We’ve seen all this. They want to be a show.”
Smith pushed for an improved contract following Super Bowl XXVI, skipping games for the Cowboys before signing an extension.
The Cowboys selected Parsons in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, being selected 12th overall.
The contract saga between Parsons and Jones has turned ugly over recent days, with the player removing the Cowboys from his X bio.
Parsons has demanded a contract worth $200 million, sparking the stand-off with GM Jones.
This is a significant jump from his current deal, worth just over $24 million for the 2025 season.
The defensive end was accused of sleeping on the sidelines during their preseason win against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, August 22.
Collinsworth argues that Parsons holds little hope of negotiating an improved contract with Jones.
He said, “It wasn’t a great concept to go in and sit down with Jerry Jones and talk about the contract. It’s not a great concept to allow NFL players in the room to negotiate with NFL owners.
“Those guys are trained killers. As an agent, I don’t even want them to have a private conversation on the field.”

Both Parsons and Jones had skipped a training camp with the Cowboys as the new season approaches.
Collinsworth claims that the Cowboys may rather tank the defensive end’s career than let him leave for another franchise.
He said, “The problem is they really do control him for the next three years.
“He’s under contract, and he can be franchise tagged for the two years after that.”
Collinsworth will be on the call for the season opener on NBC on September 4.
