THE Dallas Cowboys have made a major free agency signing to boost their defensive ranks.
The team announced the decision Sunday just as they pulled off a wild victory.

Dallas held off the New York Giants 40-37 in a thriller.
The Cowboys defence lost a key part this summer when Micah Parsons was traded.
The pass rusher was sent to the Green Bay Packers and it left Dallas with a gaping hole.
But owner Jerry Jones has moved to address the defense with a big free agency signing.
Dallas confirmed the news with an article on it’s official website.
But they team then added that the move is not yet completed.
“He’s been an outstanding player,” Jones said.
“He’ll add some real depth.
“He’s very credible. He’ll help us.”
COO Stephen Jones added, “After losing Micah on the edge and certainly getting a great piece in Kenny Clark in the middle, we did want to try and shore up the outside again.
“We’re looking at Jadeveon as somebody who could do that.
“He’s disruptive, he does have production getting the passer, and think he’s a guy who can come in here and do some good for us.”
Clowney, 32, has been in the league since 2014.
The Houston Texans selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft that year.
He is a three-time Pro Bowler who has earned $97 million during his career.

Clowney has bounced around teams in recent years since leaving Houston in 2018.
He has been part of the Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers.
Clowney crossed paths with Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer in 2019.
Schottenheimer was with the Seattle Seahawks at the time.
“Guy’s a really good football player,” the Cowboys coach said about Clowney.
“He’s missed playing the game a little bit, and the film obviously looks good.
“We’re always in the business of seeing what’s out there and keeping an eye on all good football players.
“I would say the personal relationship I have with him, the problems I know he can create both in the run and the pass is the main reason he’s here.”
