INDYCAR driver David Malukas was rushed to hospital after a brutal crash in Sunday’s Music City Grand Prix.
He was airlifted for a precautionary evaluation after suffering a high-speed crash on track.

On Sunday evening, Malukas, via X, said, “I am healthy and well!
“Thank you all for the messages. It meant a lot to see all the support the moment I left the hospital.
“Gratitude to the AMR/INDYCAR safety and medical teams for their exceptional care.
“Better days ahead, much love -DM.”
Having qualified second for the race in Nashville, he tried to pass rookie Louis Foster on lap 83.
As he went to overtake the British driver, they collided.
Malukas’ car was sent spinning backwards into the wall, ending his race.
The American had some choice words for Foster before being taken to a local trauma center.
Speaking on Fox Sports’ live broadcast, IndyCar medical advisor Dr. Julia Vaizer commented, “David’s doing well.
“He’s awake, he’s alert, he’s in really good spirits.
“We’re just sending him down to our trauma center for some precautionary evaluation and advanced imaging.”
At the time of the crash, Malukas was chasing down Pato O’Ward in the IndyCar season finale.
He was less than three seconds behind the Mexican when his rear left tyre collided with Foster’s front right.
The Brit received a drive-through penalty for causing the collision and finished 20th in the end.
Despite this, the 22-year-old won IndyCar Rookie of the Year.
He finished marginally ahead of Robert Shwartzman but led fewer laps (five vs eight) and had fewer top ten finishes (zero vs two).
Malukas finished 11th in the championship, 393 points behind champion, Alex Palou.
His previous highest finish was 16th in 2022.
The 23-year-old is yet to win a race in IndyCar but has three podiums during his four-season career.
This includes a second-place finish in this year’s Indianapolis 500.
