On Tuesday, former Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator and longtime NFL starting quarterback Byron Leftwich joined Sanders’ staff at Colorado.
Sanders introduced the 45-year-old Leftwich during a team meeting, as was shared in a video posted by Thee Pregame Show.
“He’s blessed with us today,” Coach Prime said about Leftwich.
“With the quarterbacks, he is going to do what he does.
“He has a wealth of knowledge. With him and what the whole staff brings offensively, we’re going to go to another level.
The 57-year-old continued, “You should feel blessed.
“This guy knows what he is doing and he’s going to be an intricate part of our success.
“I already know that. So let’s welcome Coach Leftwich.”
Coach Prime then asked Leftwich to give his resume.
“10 years in the league, seven years of coaching experience,” Leftwich answered.
During his playing career, Leftwich won a Super Bowl as a backup quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009.
Leftwich’s coaching career included his offensive coordinator tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he worked with the future Hall of Famer Brady.
He helped lead the franchise to a Super Bowl 55 win in 2020.
Leftwich helped coach a top-two passing offense in each of his four seasons with the Bucs.

He guided Brady to his first 5,000-yard season and 40-touchdown campaign in more than a decade.
Leftwich’s official position on the Buffaloes staff hasn’t been announced.
Pat Shurmur is expected to continue his role as the team’s offensive coordinator in 2025.
Leftwich joins a Colorado staff littered with former NFL stars – Hall of Famers running back Marshall Faulk and defensive lineman Warren Sapp.

Colorado will have the tough task of replacing Shedeur Sanders and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter – both of whom left for the NFL Draft after a 9-4 campaign.
The quarterback competition will likely be between heralded freshman Julian Lewis and Kaidon Salter, who transferred from Liberty.
