Henry’s mistake came in the fourth quarter as the Ravens were down by four points and looking to make a game-winning drive.
Baltimore were on their own 20-yard line when Lamar Jackson handed the ball to his running back.
Henry took the ball up to the line of scrimmage, but Aidan Hutchinson punched the ball out from his grip.
It went loose, and the Lions recovered the football through D.J. Reed.
Speaking after the game, Henry said, “I’m at a loss for words. This sucks right now. I ain’t going to lie to y’all.
“It’s just crazy. Three fumbles [in three games] straight.
“I’m trying every day to fix the problem that just keeps occurring.
“I’m my worst critic, so I’m not going to try to beat myself up too much.
“But it’s hard not to when it’s consecutive and consistent [instances] of me doing the same thing.”
After the play, ESPN’s cameras picked up Henry smashing his helmet, which they posted to X.
The RB launched his helmet onto a post in frustration as he sat on the bench.
The Ravens went on to lose the game 38-30.
Henry scored the Ravens’ opening TD with a 28-yard rush, cancelling out Jahmyr Gibbs’ rush.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the scores were level at 21-21.
Gibbs converted for his second of the game, giving the Lions the lead.
The Ravens had to settle for a three-pointer on their next drive, and soon after, Henry fumbled.
The Lions made a field goal on the following drive to take a seven-point lead with six and a half minutes to go.
David Montgomery followed it up with a brilliant 31-yard rushing TD to all-but-seal victory for the Ravens.
Mark Andrews did manage a consolation touchdown in the final minute.
Baltimore face their AFC rivals, the Chiefs, next week, while the Lions host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
