McGann faces two counts of murder after Clinton and Cristen Brink were found dead along a remote walking trail in Devil’s Den State Park in northwest Arkansas on Saturday.
He was arrested on Wednesday evening at a hair salon in Springdale, Arkansas.
Chilling new details have come to light about McGann, who reportedly moved to the area from Oklahoma to teach at a local elementary school.
Police launched a manhunt for the man who attacked the Brinks in broad daylight while they were out hiking on a trail with their two young daughters, aged 7 and 9, Arkansas State Police said.
The two girls weren’t hurt in the attack and are safe with relatives, cops said.
“Clinton and Kristen died heroes protecting their little girls and they deserve justice. They will forever live on in all of our hearts,” the Brink and Osgood family said in a statement.
