The couple are said to have been staying in a garage in Fargo, North Dakota when the alleged attack happened.
Granados was rushed to hospital with “significant injuries” after witnesses say Deoliveira launched her unprovoked assault.
But in a police mugshot taken after her arrest on attempted murder and aggravated assault charges Deoliveira could not look happier.
Deoliveira is homeless and often couch surfed, InForum reports.
An unnamed witness is said to have told cops they heard a “splitting wood” sound during the incident.
Charging documents said: “He [the witness] believes there were two strikes because when he approached [Granados], it looked like one or two of Johnny’s fingers were missing or ‘kind of hanging’.
“He saw blood and a mark through Johnny’s skull.”
Police say Deoliveira fled the scene but was arrested two days later “without incident”.
In a statement on Facebook they wrote: “On Friday, September 5, at 5:39 a.m., The Fargo Police Department (FPD) responded to an aggravated assault near the 700 block of College Street North.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male with significant injuries.
“During the course of the investigation, the FPD identified Lena Deoliveira, a 23-year-old Moorhead resident, as a suspect in the assault. Deoliveira is known to the victim.
“The victim is being treated at a local medical facility for his injuries.”
Deoliveira will appear in Cass County court on October 16, KVLY reports.
She is being held on $500,000 bond, according to reports.
