The news came just days after Dolly, 79, left fans concerned when she was a no show for a scheduled appearance at her Dollywood theme park.
Now the country music beauty has revealed she will need to shift her Las Vegas extravaganza, which would have seen her perform six dates this winter, to next fall.
In her text post uploaded to her grid, Dolly wrote: “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.
“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.
“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”
The Jolene vocalist continued: “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.
“While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say.”
She then reassured fans she would be in the music industry for the long run and added: “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.
“He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
A second slide then revealed the newly-rearranged dates, which will now see her take to the stage on September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25 and 26.
Original tickets are valid for the new dates and refunds will be accepted.
FAN SUPPORT
Dolly’s famous followers and loyal fans were quick to offer the chart legend their support.
Katy Perry was quick to comment: “We love you so much you got this!”
Dolly Parton’s Career Highlights

Dolly Parton is one of the most well-known country stars in the business, and her career has continued to flourish. Here’s a look at the highlights of the music legend’s decades-long career.
- Dolly wrote and released her first single, Puppy Love, including the B-track Girl Left Alone, on Goldband Records when she was 11 years old.
- Although her single wasn’t a big hit, she ended up performing at Nashville, Tennessee’s Grand Ole Opry for the first time at 13 years old and was introduced by Johnny Cash.
- Dolly made the Billboard country charts in January 1967 with two singles from Monument Records: Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy.
- The singer earned her first number-one hit in 1971 with her single Joshua.
- In 1974, Dolly’s arguably most well-known song, Jolene, reached number one on the country charts.
- Her music continued to succeed, and she was awarded the Female Vocalist of the Year award at the CMAs in 1975.
- Dolly’s track, Here You Come Again, achieved platinum status in 1978, and the album earned her a Grammy award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
- In 1980, Dolly starred in her first film, 9 to 5, alongside Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda and released her hit song of the same name.
- The star opened her famed amusement park, Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in 1986.
- Later that year, she was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
- At 75 years old, Dolly recreated her 1978 Playboy Cover for her husband Carl Dean’s birthday.
- In May 2022, it was announced that Dolly would officially be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, alongside Eminem, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, and Pat Benatar.
Brandi Carlile then posted: “Beyond reproach.”
A fan added: “You got this Ms. Parton.”
One then uploaded a lengthy message of support which read: “I hope you get well soon Dolly! Take the time you need to rest up & get to the place you need to be in order to put on the best show possible! Your fans will be there waiting for you.”
Another mused: “Glad Dolly is making her health first priority. I hope she makes a speedy and full recovery, from whatever her ailment is.”
TOUGH TIMES
This month, Dolly told how a painful health diagnosis had forced her to cancel her trip to Dollywood.
“Hello Dollywood! It’s me! I know, I’m here and you’re there and wondering why that is,” Dolly said in a clip posted to X by news reporter Marcus Leshock.
She then then revealed she was suffering from “a kidney stone,” which forced her to miss the appearance.
“I had a little problem. I had a kidney stone,” Dolly’s video message continued.
“Turns out there was an infection,’ the music legend said.
“And the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute… You need a few days to feel better.’ So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.”
Dolly then assured that she was “there in spirit” and told fans that she was “looking forward” to visiting the amusement park again.
The Grammy Award winner also revealed that her condition wasn’t serious; she “just can’t do it today.”
PERSONAL HEARTACHE
Away from the stage, Dolly has been battling huge personal grief.
The country singer confirmed in March that her husband Carl Dean had sadly died at the age of 82.
When the news of his passing was revealed earlier this year, Dolly said in a statement: “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together.
“Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.
“Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
Dolly did not reveal her husband’s cause of death but had previously been diagnosed with alzheimer’s disease in 2019.
She then released a song – her first new track in two years – dedicated to her late spouse.
