Donald Trump protected by snipers and bulletproof glass at Yankees 9/11 game appearance after Charlie Kirk murder

SNIPERS and bulletproof glass protected President Donald Trump at the New York Yankees’ game on September 11 following the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk.

The 79-year-old commander-in-chief was in attendance at the Yankees-Detroit Tigers game on Thursday night to mark the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Enhanced security was put in place for Trump‘s appearance at Yankee Stadium, as is always the case for presidential appearances.

But further measures were put in place after the murder of Trump’s ally Kirk this week.

The Yankees positioned several glass panels in front of where Trump sat in a Steinbrenner suite during the team’s game against the Tigers.

And there were numerous snipers pictured overlooking the ballpark.

Trump attended the game to honor the victims and heroes of the Sept. 11 attacks.

He was greeted with mostly cheers as he was shown on the Jumbotron.

Trump’s visit comes just over 24 hours after Kirk was shot and killed at a rally at Utah Valley University in Utah.

The shooting suspect, Tyler Robinson, was arrested on Friday morning.

The Yankees had warned fans to get to the stadium three hours before the game due to the extra security protocols being set for the president’s visit.

The MLB team put forth guidelines for fans attending and detailed enhanced security measures.

The stadium also had metal detectors and Secret Service agents, with some also featuring sniffer dogs.

Trump’s visit to the Yankees game comes days after his appearance at the men’s final of the U.S. Open led to a half-hour delay for the match.

Thousands of fans were also stuck on security lines, leading to plenty of empty seats for the start of the final.

Trump also visited the Yankees team as he entered the clubhouse at around 6:40 pm ET, per manager Aaron Boone.

Fox News captured a video of Trump meeting the enthusiastic group and shaking superstar Aaron Judge‘s hand, calling him a “fantastic player.”

Trump and the Yankees also posed for a photo.

Judge would go on to belt a home run in each of his first two at-bats of the game.

He tied Joe DiMaggio for fourth place on the Yankees’ all-time home runs list with 361.

The Yankees beat the Tigers, 9-3, in front of the sold-out crowd.
