Draymond Green makes feelings clear on Inside the NBA move to ESPN after TNT Sports exit

GOLDEN State Warriors star Draymond Green gave his thoughts on Inside the NBA’s impending move to ESPN.

Inside the NBA will be broadcast on ESPN for the upcoming NBA season after previously being on TNT Sports since 1989.

ESPN will air the popular NBA studio show Inside the NBA for the next 10 years.

The program will still be produced in Atlanta with the same studio crew.

Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and host Ernie Johnson are expected to remain on the show, but there are still questions about how the partnership with ESPN will go.

Since 2022, the four-time All-Star Draymond Green has been an NBA analyst and contributor for Turner Sports and has made in-season appearances on Inside the NBA.

So the 35-year-old knows a thing or two about the cast.

The U.S. Sun caught up with Green at Fanatics Fest NYC 2025 last week and asked the three-time NBA champion what he thinks about Inside the NBA moving to ESPN.

Green seems to believe that all systems are go for the 23-time Sports Emmy-winning show, which will keep their star talent.

“The cast of characters are still the same. … [They’re] still the best in the world,” Green said.

He also said that TNT will still produce the show.

ESPN won’t have any editorial control over Inside the NBA.

Still, O’Neal and Barkley have expressed “concern” over how it will play out with Inside the NBA on ESPN’s airwaves.

“We’re all concerned, I’m not gonna lie to you,” Barkley said during an appearance on 680 The Fan in Atlanta earlier this month.

“Because we just don’t know.

“So I wish I could give you a definite answer, but we made the move, and we’re gonna see.

“Like I said, it’s gonna be cool working for ESPN.

“ESPN’s the most famous network in the world for sports, and it’s gonna be an honor to work there.”

Smith recently said he’s “uncomfortable” with the move to ESPN.

Barkley, O’Neal, and Smith’s uneasy feelings come after they spoke with both TNT Sports and ESPN about the show’s plans.

One of the concerns has been the potential workload, although Inside the NBA will be broadcast much less than it was on TNT.

It’ll be interesting to see Inside the NBA taking over studio coverage during the league’s big events, while seeing ESPN’s current studio program taking a back seat.
