Summerset, SD (KELO) — A Texas man is facing several charges following a pursuit early Friday near Summerset, in western South Dakota.
According to a post by the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, an officer found a driver asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle along Interstate 90.
The sheriff’s office says the officer spotted a drug pipe in the man’s lap and an open container in the center console.
The 29-year-old man from Dallas allegedly took off, driving westbound on the interstate before being caught.
He’s charged with aggravated eluding, possession of a controlled substance and DUI.
