Celebrations for Dussehra are diverse across the country and reflect the vibrancy in traditions. From the mode of celebrations to the sweets and delicacies made on the day, Vijayadashami holds precedence in diversity. However, the bigger significance of the good prevailing over all evil holds common ground in all states across India. In other words, the festival also carries a deeper spiritual meaning, celebrating the victory of righteousness over wickedness and the removal of one’s inner vices and ego. The festival also marks the conclusion of the nine-day Navaratri festival and precedes Diwali, the festival of lights, by 20 days. Abhishek Sharrma, who plays the role of Devansh Sing Chauhan of Zee TV’s popular show Vasudha, talks about his fond favourites during the festival.
Abhishek says, “Dussehra is about tradition, food, and childhood joys. It’s a time to embrace our roots, indulge in festive treats, and celebrate the values that have shaped us.”
“This Dussehra, may you embody the hero of your own story. Every ‘no’ you have heard, and every challenge you have overcome, is part of your epic narrative. Celebrate this day knowing that your dedication and passion are the divine arrows that will lead to a glorious and well-deserved victory. Let the ashes of Ravana be a testament: no evil, no matter how powerful, can ever truly defeat the spirit of good. This Dussehra, let that truth resonate in every heart. Happy Vijayadashami!”, he says as he signs off.
