Salters is the longest-tenured reporter in Monday Night Football history.
Through 25 years at ESPN, she has won multiple Emmys for her work.
She also serves as the lead sideline reporter for ESPN’s NBA coverage.
Salters spent a lot of time away from ESPN while dealing with some personal issues in recent months.
The health of her mother kept her away from the NBA Finals broadcast with Mike Breen.
“Lisa Salters’ mom has been dealing with some serious health issues for a while now,” Breen said during Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
“Although we’ve never met her mom, we owe her a debt of gratitude for giving us the gift of Lisa Salters, who is the teammate everyone in our business should strive to have.”
Salters should be available for all 20 games she is slated for in the 2025 season barring any other issues.
Fans were thrilled to hear of her extension and shared their congratulations on social media.
“Congratulations on the new season!!!” one fan said.
“I love this! Let’s go!” another fan said.
“What an elite crew. Great decision ESPN!!!!” a third fan said.
“GREAT news!!!” a fourth fan said.
On top of the congratulations from fans, other ESPN talents chimed in to shared their well wishes.
“This is GREAT news,” play-by-play broadcaster Joe Buck wrote on X.
