ESPN cameras catch Ja’Marr Chase in furious sideline bust-up with head coach during ugly Bengals loss

JA’MARR Chase appeared to have a heated disagreement with his head coach during the Cincinnati Bengals’ disappointing Monday Night Football loss.

ESPN’s cameras spotted the sequence between the star wide receiver and head coach Zac Taylor during the Bengals‘ 28-3 away loss to the Denver Broncos.

Toward the end of the third quarter, Chase got into what seemed to be a fiery confration with Taylor.

The sequence took place after the Bengals failed to convert on third down for the seventh time.

ESPN’s cameras showed Chase as the All-Pro wideout was waving his hands and talking to Taylor, who took off his headset and grabbed Chase by the hip to speak to him.

After the game, Chase touched on his visible frustation on social media.

“I play with passion,” he wrote on X.

“Man yall better leave me alone man.”

Taylor, meanwhile, downplayed the sideline exchange.

Ja’Marr Chase, coming off a game like this, is one of my favorite players to deal with, quite frankly,” Taylor told reporters, “because he’s just competitive.

“He just wants to win, and it comes across as emotional, but that’s just a captain that works his tail off.

“All he wants to do is win the game.”

The Bengals ended the contest with eight straight punts after kicking a field goal in the opening drive.

Cincinnati fell to 2-2 and have lost two straight since losing star quarterback Joe Burrow to a turf toe injury.

Burrow is expected to be out until at least December.

Chase also called out his team for a lack of effort.

Urgency is there, man, it’s just you gotta want it,” he told reporters.

At the end of the day, we gotta want it. Today, it didn’t look like we wanted it.”

Chase finished with five receptions on eight targets for 23 yards.

Jake Browning, who has filled in for Burrow, had a second straight disappointing performance, completing 14-for-25 with 125 passing yards.
