ESPN’s decision to axe Sharpe was reported by The Athletic.
Sharpe had denied the allegations at the time of the lawsuit, which was filed by a woman identified only as Jane Doe.
The lawsuit accused Sharpe of manipulation, beating, and sexual assault.
Sharpe also shared that he would return to ESPN at the start of training camp, which began last week.
The suit claimed that the two had dated for about two years before the alleged sexual assault.
Sharpe has maintained his innocence and asserted that the relationship was “100% consensual.”
Jane Doe alleged the 57-year-old Sharpe raped her in late 2024 and again in early 2025 when she was just 20 years old.
