ESPN in major broadcasting change as network announces massive slate of NFL coverage for Week 1

ESPN is loading up a huge slate of coverage to kick off the 2025 NFL season.

The network will air its first football broadcast of the year on Monday, September 8.

ESPN will air over eight hours of football coverage on Monday, September 8[/caption]

However, the game broadcast won’t be the only coverage that ESPN provides for Monday Night Football.

The network has planned over eight hours of programming for fans to enjoy in the leadup to MNF.

The day will start with a two-hour episode of NFL Live airing from 3pm ET to 5pm ET.

Then, Monday Night Countdown will air from 6pm ET to 8pm ET.

Both of those shows will be filming from Soldier Field ahead of the matchup between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

Then, at 8pm ESPN will broadcast the first Monday Night Football game of the season with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call.

Outside of those programs, additional coverage will be provided on Get Up, First Take, the Pat McAfee Show.

Pardon The Interruption and ESPN Radio will also chime in on the coverage.

After the game concludes, SportsCenter will air from Soldier Field, with Scott Van Pelt recapping the action.

It is a massive slate of football coverage, and fans can’t wait for it to get started.
