On Wednesday, ESPN announced that the network signed a deal with Newton.

It will be a new multi-year deal for the 2015 NFL MVP, which will allow him to have more roles on the morning debate show.

Newton has previously been a guest on Friday’s episodes during the football season.

The 36-year-old will now appear on First Take multiple times per week, per Front Office Sports.

The press release revealed that Newton will return to First Take on Thursday.

The show will air live from Norfolk State University as part of its HBCU tour on that day.

“Cam Newton is a unique talent who is authentically himself, and that’s a key ingredient for success on First Take,” ESPN Executive Vice President David Roberts said in a statement.

“Cam is also an ultimate team player.

“All of us at ESPN look forward to watching Cam create a strong connection with his teammates and our fans.”

Newton also gave a statement on his deal.

“I am excited to be back with the First Take team and share my voice on all things sports,” he said.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to connect with fans and bring my passion and knowledge to a show I’ve always admired.”

Fans have reacted to Newton’s expanded new role, which will see him work alongside Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim daily.

Business moves. Love it,” one wrote.

“Congratulations Cam! Much deserved,” another commented.

“That’s dope,” a third said.

“Good for Cam,” a fourth added.

The Carolina Panthers legend will add to his sports media resume.

He is currently the host of his podcasts, 4th & 1 with Cam Newton and Funky Friday.
