On Saturday, Iowa State and Kansas State faced each other in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland.
ESPN broadcast the game, and fans were surprised by the network’s new college football scorebug.
The opener featured the debut of a new graphics and animations package.
The new scorebug is now in the middle of the screen.
Also, the new scorebug will change depending on which team has possession of the football.
That aspect was displayed in the game in Ireland as the scorebug was mostly red when Iowa State had the football.
Then, the scorebug is mostly purple while Kansas State has the ball.
Fans have mostly praised ESPN’s new scorebug.
“Perfect,” one wrote.
“Incredible,” another commented.
“I love it,” a third said.
One account compared the 2025 college football scoreboard to ESPN’s 2024 version.
“One underrated aspect of the new ESPN CFB scorebug is that the time and down/distance will no longer have to be squished down to accommodate the name of a special event/bowl game,” SportsTV News & Updates wrote on X.
However, some fans believe the new scorebug is too big.
